I recently acquired a second Battlin Robots set, loose this time. I have scanned one of the original sticker sheets from my unused set and made some modifications. Optimus now has blue windows, plus I created some G1-style foot stickers for him. I also put a sharper looking Autobot logo in place of the dull looking ones they had for the shoulders.

I am not 100% finished, but I have cut out the most recent effort and taped it to the bots to get a feel for where it is headed. I wish reprolabels had an interest in it, but for now the best I'm going to be able to do is printing these out on sticker paper and hand-cutting. They should still look damn good when I'm done, but the original is on a metallic paper that I cannot replicate. It is hard enough having to fix anomalies from scanning the shiny chrome original :)

Shown here is the original sheet and the WIP on the bots.

After more work this evening, I have now corrected the colors and shortened the grill sticker so that it properly fits Optimus. The original never fit properly. I have also added an extra couple of grill intakes on Prime and removed the curly design from Megatron's chest for aesthetic purposes. Optimus also has improved arm logos. You may notice a few other changes from the 1985 sticker sheet ;)

Now I need to get my hands on some good glossy inkjet sticker paper. If this turns out as well as planned, I will be happy to hook up anyone who might want a set. I will be scanning and printing the head and ring stickers, also. Those do not require any modifications and are just simple scan and print repros.

This label set wouldn't work with those, as these bots are much larger.

However, if this simply reminds you of those, that's different. Both sets are coo in their own right :)

Thanks for the compliments. I have found a source for the paper that is willing to send out samples. If it looks good, I will buy more sheets and make them available. I'm now considering a few tweaks to the head stickers. What do you guys think about light blue eyes for Prime and red eyes for Megatron? I'm also thinking of putting a gray faceplate sticker on there for Optimus.

Also, I decided that the shoulder logos on Prime still don't pop enough, so I changed them to white with a red background.

All of the above mentioned changes are in this latest picture update with the exception of a faceplate.

Okay, last update before I go into waiting mode on the glossy sticker paper. Here is the faceplate that I have made for Prime. Overall, I'm very happy with the results!

While I've never seen the original piece before, the changes you've made to the original set are definitely pretty sweet!

Also, the word you've put into them is well worth it; as they're going to look GREAT once you're done with them! :D

The sticker paper worked great! Glossy, waterproof, instant drying, and quite durable. This started out as a labor of love for one of my favorite toys from the G1 days, but I understand that others might benefit from a set of these. If anybody wants a set, I can do it for $18 shipped in the USA or $21 shipped anywhere else (payment by mail only). I'm not looking to get rich, I just want to cover my ink, paper, postage, and get a buck or two for the hours I spent getting these just right :)
