Thanks Allot for your input and is always welcome.

The last 2 days i had some time in between doing the slag builds so i thought i would test out some fast molds.

What i did is i made the mold as normal but this time i set my oven to 60c and when i had poured the RTV i then used my drill and placed the end onto the mold and pulled the trigger slowly to make the baubles rise really fast and were all out within 2 minutes. i then placed the molds in the oven for 30 mins and then they had gone quite thick so then i turn the heat up to around 75 for another 45 mins.

after that i let them cool down at room temp and then de-mold after they were set around another 20 mins. bet waiting 12-24 hours.

I then thought i would see what results i got by adding a drop or 2 of normal humbrol paint to easyflo 60 and i quite like some of the colors and got a bit carried away and half built a bombshell. i found by adding black gave a nice airfix color. if you add to much paint it will bubble over so be carefully.

here is what i came up with let me know what you think and also i made the legs bigger and still got the detail to add

Hi guys i learnt from google by typing in how to cast and make molds.
i get all my stuff from ebay from here

I use RTV for the mold and easyflo 60 for the cast. you can get all the stuff from these guys and they are really good on postage discount.

if any one wants i will when i get time do some tuts on how i work with rtv and easyflo.

    All the best Dawgstar

    Good to hear from you.
Swoop is not far away from being finished so when he is i will make a tut on how to mold and cast. If you get a week spare maybe we can work together at 1st hand and see what we come come up with. once you can cast builds become so much quicker cos i tend to work from master casts that i have already made. i was thinking of hiring my local hall in maidstone for a build day if i get enough interest. I think it would be a good day that we can all trade ideas and how we work?

watch this space for the tut coming soon.

    All the best Dawgstar

Long time follower, first time poster. Can't wait for this. Your work is incredible and inspires me to push myself. I'm considering getting into casting myself and would welcome any info.

Im sure you do a fine job at painting. Looking forward to it! I did however thought the color cast parts were brilliant. I thought you were going to cast the parts in a varying color coding and piece it togther. That would have been great.
