Hi, just to share what I've done to my Airachnid.
I replaced the arms with FE Arcee's and added double ball joint neck.
Though the alternate mode still kinda sucks but the figure can be transformed between modes without need of dismantle anything.

I am still looking out for something to cover the upper/lower arms wishing that it would look less hideous in alternate mode.

Please feel free to give your suggestions and comments, thank you!

Sorry for the blurry pictures. :banghead:

I think you may have found the winning solution. Or at least the best one yet.

I think the alt mode looks okay.

Looks a lot better than the stock figure that was put out. Great work.

Yeah that looks ok! Question is what do you do with an armless fe arcee?

Now all you have to do is do something with those heli blade/ spider leg wannabe's and it's golden! Well, black but you get the point!

Add some paint and it'll be black with golden details ;)

I might try this. I have an FE arcee that's always chilling in vehicle mode anyways. I'd have to remove the paint I added, though.

I'm loving how the arms fold up in her alt mode so far, even without panels to cover them up, though I'm not really a fan of the idea of cannibalizing a first edition figure that you'd have to hunt down online.

    That's a MAJOR improvement! :thumb

I like how the arms are visable in alt mode yet they don't glare out horribly!

    Great job! :thumb

The arms are okay, but seem way too long.

They're too long in robot mode I think. And you need to find a way to get the panels on the arms. It looks naked without them.

Arms are too long, wouldn't rid arcee arms be a better fit,
I do own airachnid and have taken her apart so I understand how the sliding mechanism for the head work, but I'm sure you could still carve out some of this plastic so the arms could fold in more,

Why oh why didn't the designer use the cockpit for the arms - would of made this mold pretty much kibble'less like the rid vehicon,

Other then that, good work dude seems she needs alot of mods to look half decent and am looking forward to more updates

It's a great idea. What about removing the panels from Aracnid's upper arms and attaching them to the Arcee arms?

It's a good idea - but I'm also kinda hurting that it requires the sacrifice of a collectible figure for a sub-par figure to look decent...

Maybe another figure could be used, or arms could be scratch-built/Shapeways?

Glorious! Much much much better than mine. I now need to find a spare Airachnid and a FE Arcee to do this.

"Naked" is the operative word. Its definitely best mod I've seen so far that makes this downer of a figure look better in bot mode. Although in Commanche mode it just looks like she's trying to cover up her heli-boobies from peeping toms.

Out of curiosity, how do people think FE Starscream's arms would fare for this concept?

Much better, and the best execution done yet. Now we need some proper spider arms...

Youve done a great job , but to me it looks questionable. in copter mode the way her hands are, look like shes a push-up bra holding up her coc-pit. .. -_-;; Love it though lol
