I was thinking... If I can't manage to make them combine, I could make Bruticus a team member like so: Image:Combaticons bruticus.jpg - Transformers Wiki

Considering how small the FP Bruticus head is, it'll admittedly look ridiculous on a con made up of 4 voyagers and a leader class figure. A decent idea though.
Update! I removed the wings on Blast off to clear him of kibble, make him look more like a space craft, and to make Bruticus' chest shield.
Very nice! Will you be showing all your other combaticons as well? Also will the wings be reattached 2 blastoff 4 his alt mode and dettached 4 bruticus chest plate like the cartoon traonsformation? Keep at it man.
I don't have the other combaticons at the time being, and Yes, I think I'll Reattach the wings for alt mode and use them for Bruticus' chestplate
Also, I just bought a pack of military-themed paints. It's quite useful considering their Military vehicle alt modes.
nice choice. though i would have been lazy about Vortex and just got the Takara DOTM Vortex but nice choice. can't wait to see it
There is an important reason I chose the Skyhammer mold, I always look for waist swivels because it gives the arm mode more articulation. I still need to get him though...
I second that notion... though that commander head is pretty big, so it might not fit on very many figures. Skyhammer is a great potential Vortex... he's pretty much mostly the right colour already. However, I think it depends on the overall style you're going for with this team. With this Blast Off from the Crossover, I'd go with a less "movie style" bot. The movie bots have a high level of detail and a certain mechanical aesthetic that doesn't always mix well with the more simplified cartoon-style forms. I'd recommend the Cybertron Evac/Classics Blades mold instead, since he'll be just about the perfect size and style match for the Blast Off you already have. He also has a swivel waist joint, and some echoes of Vortex's original transformation (the front cockpit of the helicopter becomes legs, the flat, boxy chest, etc...). Following that logic, the Crossovers hummer would be a good Swindle (or the Wolverine mold if you wanted something smaller). Not sure what would make a good Brawl at that scale. The Crossovers Hulk Tank is too broad to work as a leg. Maybe a modified Classics Dropshot? zmog
I was planning on painting swindle a military tan color, 'cause yellow is just garish. However, I still plan on adding purple highlights.
Seeing how you've mentioned not going for a "set style" for these guys, I can see this being some sort of interdimensional team of Combaticons (like the individual members came from different continuities/universes but somehow met up in Axiom Nexus and decided to form their own cross-continuity team complete with a Bruticus). Just a interesting backstory I thought of, but I digress. Can't wait to see how Swindle looks.
I was also thinking about adding gold details and chromed rims to show that he's rich and ain't afraid to show it. (Insert obligatory "I'm sexy and I know it" reference)
