I also get a "swindle" vibe off of him; different head, but slightly similar chest to what you drew up. Painting this guy will be a b!tch, though. Lots of sanding, and all that white!
Dye it!

Depends on how elegant you want the paint job to be, but I don't think "pristine" really fits the accident-prone Swerve, shortcut-loving Outback, or battlefield-dusty Swindle.

(BTW, see you 3 hours from now, buddy! )

Hmmm, this looks pretty cool. Thats a wonderful mod to prid ratchet

I was thinking prime ratchet would make a good IDW First Aid

Or Idw ratchet with a new chestpiece/head

Thanks for the kind words and feedback on this guys.
I seriously thought I was the only one that was gonna see this as a possibility. I just wanted to comment on a few and a give you guys an update. Outback is in the works btw but gears and brawn are not.
I think with igear announcing their super cool versions at a fair price, there's no need. I feel that outback and swerve are kind of secondary characters and probably won't get a proper toy anytime soon unless it's a repaint or something.

Hm... to further differentiate him from Ratchet... perhaps you can find a way so that his wheels are facing outwards rather than inwards? If the figure sports rotating hips, it'd be quite feasible... but idk since I don't have him atm. =.

Nice sketch btw.
thanks, I've tried a lot of variations for the legs and just haven't gotten anything I'm happy with, without having to do major bashing. Since I want these parts to just screw on and go I think the wheels are gonna have to stay inside on this one.

Oooh, Outback is a GREAT idea!
Dude you've been a HUGE help on this. Thank you so much.

Is there any way to mis-transform PRID Ratchet to achieve that?

If that element could be resolved, I'd say this would definitely work for Outback as well.

I totally agree. you can rotate the back of the vehicle about 90 degrees up. I've been working on a component that locks under the vehicle into the bumper. It doesn't interfere with the transformation or the wheel clearance. I think it's the best no-bash option.

Thanks, Swindle is an interesting one. I'll think about it for sure. I think this might be a lot easier to paint than it appears. plus you can always go for the dirty look.

I believe someone i know is working on a first aid from this, I'll let him introduce it though.

Thanks again guys
Here's the update.
Everything is done just needs to be tested. Here's a mock up of what it will look like

It'll include the Chest, Head, Gun and the Back Pack attachment.
I'll keep you posted.

P.S. I'm not ignoring the inferno and RnR thread, I just don't want to hog the boards. I'll respond to comments and questions when I have updates.
Cheers guys

That mock-up is looking FINE, buddy!

I have two small comments... one, based on the mock-up image, I'm wondering if his head might be just a bit too large? I know the larger head emphasizes his "minibot" proportions, but in relation to the scale of his limbs it might be a bit big (his hands for example, feel too small for his face). The original Swerve had a pretty small face relative to the surrounding body as well (your sketch reflects this too), though of course it's hard to cite proportions on such a simple little figure as the G1 version.

As for the second thing, it might depend on what other folks think, but what about giving Swerve a bit of a smile? A big part of his popularity at the moment is due to his IDW incarnation, and the grim countenance just doesn't quite hit it on the nose. A smirk might nail it though.

Anyway, I thought I'd put that out there since you're still in the digital stages.
