first of all, thanks so much guys. i really appreciate the words of encouragement. believe it or not, the hands are primarily those big kid mega blocks i stole from my kids. the main parts of the head is an ironman halloween pail with a hockey helmet and abs pipes with gatorade bottles for the side pipes. my office was throwing out really nice 1/8th inch large plastic signs (not that crappy corrogated stuff). so i used that for the doors then layered on shapes of the same stuff and toy parts for detail. yea, the doors are held on by industrial velcro because i needed them to be removable. the legs are filled with electronics ie. blue ray/receiver/speakers and sub so when its movie time, the doors come off and with my couch there, they'd hit if it was on hinges. then the top stuff i didn't want to hinge because if i'm displaying toys there, the doors will block the view and they'd just be in the way. all the doors fit between the legs for storage. some one asked for work in progress shots, i didn't take many but here's some
Yeah makes sense. You got it all figured out! I love how just the head is bigger than the actual G1 Metroplex
this. the Metroplex shelving unit needs a Trypticon unit to go with it two questions: 1. what did you make the rest of him (his head, hands, and removable chest pieces) out of? 2. how wide is he?
