Loved this year's SG Prime from Botcon, that I decided he needed his nemesis, and I wanted one more in scale with this year's fig than just nabbing the Megatron from the 08 set. I happened to have this WFC Megatron in the computer desk drawer, and after getting a good look at them side by side decided that he'd do nicely. Since Prime got upgraded into his G2 form yet kept his original SG coloring, I did the same with Megatron. A nice space tank body with the original SG Megatron colors as a template. I took a few coloring cues from Josh Perez's SG War For Cybertron piece as well. (Most notably coloring the right shoulder pauldron black. I'd originally left it red.) Ordered a set from reprolabels that included an SG Decepticon logo and that put the final touch on the figure! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out overall! I did a quick video overview of the figure as well:
This is a great idea, and a way to say f off to them releasing it at a convention to beat the obnoxious pricing.

Eh, it was never intended as any kind of "F you," it was just a fun idea I had last week that I followed up on. If Botcon ever did release a similar deco, I'd likely buy it.
Thanks guys! I had a lot of fun making him. It's kind of given me the itch to do another one soonish, just need to decide who I want to do.
This is really nice, and would definitely come in at a more reasonable price than tracking down the original SG Megs. I might have to steal this idea
