Here's a question...

Are you planning on finding a way to keep his water cannon integrated into his design, or will it be totally replaced? It just occurred to me that it might be cool to keep connection points for it (would it be able to rest next to the ladder, and therefore stay attached to the arm? Should it be possible to mount it on his neck-guard so it becomes a shoulder cannon (similar to the little chrome one on G1 Inferno)?

Thanks again for the continued feedback, support and kind words guys.
Just jumping in to respond to a few comments and small update.
I still don't have grasp of the cost since I'm still designing the parts.

Might be a lot of work as it may cause you to have to rework the lower legs (and possibly add a waist swivel so the wheels face the outside) but with how much you've put into this already I can't imagine you are scared of it lol.
Thanks and that's a great idea and where this a straight up kitbash I might have considered it. My goal is to not modify the existing parts at all.

As has been mentioned already, does the crotch plate not interfere somewhat with the forward leg movement? I mean, supposing you wanted him to sit down on something (which admittedly is not a common pose for TF's. ).

Just out of curiosity, I'm sure you're planning on attaching the ladder to the back of his head, oldschool style... but have you considered making it compatible with the plug on his arm, so he can mount it on his arm as an optional configuration? I'm also still keen on the idea of a waist swivel, though I can see how it would be more work and potentially make the hip assembly more fragile. The ankles still tilt the other way a bit, though not as much as the official configuration it's true.

I had a system in place that lowered the ball joint to allow for full range of motion but I decided the legs were too heavy to implement it. I'm looking forward to using it in smaller models though. The ladder will stay on the back of his head. it's gonna be too long I think for his arm but we'll see when I cross that bridge. I've decided that the waste won't turn at this point cuz the ladder armature will come out of the back of it, it'll mean the hood and ladder will have to turn with the waste. that's some engineering I'm not quite ready for.

Thanks man, I think I will make design a front end for those of us who really really want one but I won't include it in the kit due to cost. if there's enough demand for it, I'll include it.

again, this is awesome and i would buy as is. mark me down.
Their was a ball joint in the hip with an arm that rotated the ball down to clear for forward motion. the leg's too heavy for it so i changed it. I'll rethink the thigh length as I'm working on it. thanks for the input.

My guess it's gonna be at least a month or so. Maybe two.

I think I'm gonna find a place for the water canon. it won't be on his arm though. it'll interfere with ladder. probably end up clipping to the ladder somewhere.

So I've completely rebuilt the leg mechanics now to ratchet forward/backward and lateral movement. I think this will hold better than the ball joint system I had in mind.
I figured out how to fill in the gaps in alt mode and how the ladder/hood and their armature will attach. More to come.
thanks again guys.

P.S. The front of the waist will function like MP starscream's waist flaps.

The thighs look a little long to me too but just by a few millimeters. Sometimes things look a lot different between pictures and real life though.

Man, this kit is gonna be incredible. Thread bookmarked.

hey guys, no updates just yet. I'm trying to wrap up all of swerves upgrade parts before I get back to this. I've been doing a lot of little doodles that I'm looking forward to transferring into tangible prints. Shouldn't be too much longer.
thanks.
