Because that's not true? Megatron had more/better paint, for one. And in some cases, the stickers have really added to the figure. I'd love to have AM Ratchet if I didn't already have the US version.

You haven't seen AM Knock Out yet. I'll bet you $5 the red plastic is a little better, and the head has more accurate paint.

Welp cheets if you're curious who just knocked it up past $75, you're welcome. At $76 it's officially too rich for my blood.

Add to it, yours is good too. Mine isn't half this good looking but I got some ideas/hints how to make it better by looking at his. Cheet is a "Prime" example of what a little practice can do. Oh ho ho ho :lol  Seriously he's pretty much the man on Prime repaints. There have been very few people pump out quality show-accurate stuff like he does in this line. He's probably been at it a while going by his work. The more you do, the better you get at them.

Yeah, I've been fooling around with paints on toys since I was a small child and got my hand on model paints. Before that I would use markers. I remember taking a black sharpie to one of my Raphael toys so his costume would match the all black one he had in the Archie comics for a while.

This is 100% about practice and it never ends. I'm still getting better. I've watch people like Jin and F/R and they continue to improve as well. You just have to keep going forward. Don't be afraid to make mistakes or ruin a figure as it will happen A LOT. Just keep on doing it.

In fact, Rikerwota, there's nothing wrong with yours at all. As Luke said just keep adding to it. You have a good start as is.

Hey Cheets, you seem to be up for giving a little advice, so I'm going to ask something I've always wanted to know-- how do you get your coats so smooth? It seems like no matter how thin my acrylics are, no matter what brush I use, I end up seeing brushstrokes. Any pointers?

It's about patience. Add a layer and let it dry without running the brush over it again at all.
Also which paints are you using?

Either model masters or citadel, depending on color selection, with 10-15 drops of water added before I share it up. I generally let each layer dry (because boy howdy it will punish you like crazy if you try to just keep brushing it over and over) for a few minutes or so. Should I let each layer dry longer?

10-15 minutes is good before adding more of the same color. Also try not to water down MM paints. I've only found the need to do it a couple of times and I have a TON of their paints.

I'll definitely try it. Any tips on brush selection?

I find the brushes sold at Games Workshop are often pretty damn good. Just pick up a jar of acrylic solvent from Hobby Lobby as the paint dry so damn fast and screw with the brushes.

The yellow is MM's Chrome Yellow.

My Chrome Yellow dried up or I would have used that too. Games Workshop Golden Yellow will work in a pinch but you have to go over it with Burnished gold to get a glossy finish. When I can't get to the hobby store I've used those brushes they sell at Wal-Mart in the little 4-5$ variety grab bags will do if they're the nylon bristled type. Nothing beats a good set of fine detaling brushes though for fine work.

What sort of sealer are you using, Cheetimus?
I've found that the shoulders on mine are rubbing a fair bit and I don't really want to sand them back too much if I don't have to.
I've been using several thin layers of 'Ard coat, but just wondered if there was something a bit better.

Oh, and thanks for the encouragement, by the way, to you and LogicalLuke :)
