He'd be a lot more accurate if you did the fan mode for the shoulder pieces. He's supposed to look like he's wearing a mink fur on his shoulders.

Also, very well done. I really love the attention to the overall detail, especially in the tail light sections

Seriously, Hasbro needs to provide Cheets with a free copy of every figure a few month in advance so that we end up drooling over what it CAN look like.

I started my own version of this custom over the weekend, with somewhat mixed results. Two questions (for Cheets or anyone else that feels like answering my 17th question in this thread):

1. How in the world do you paint the black-with-yellow-stripes part of the inside of his "collar"? I can't find a position where it's out of the way of his other parts enough to get a paintbrush in there without making a mess. Am I supposed to be removing pins?

2. I know Cheets used a dremel to remove the headlights, but I'm having trouble visualizing how he did it. Has anyone had any success with this?

But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Hasbro's new deluxe class size."

Thanks. Also, that's what I was afraid of on both counts. I may wuss all the way out on the "collar" and wait for a reprolabels or something.

I sat there for like 10 minutes looking at the inside of the headlights, then looking at my cutting wheel. Then back at the headlights. Then back at the cutting wheel. Then sighing.

Also, for anyone doing this, the more important and brilliant thing Cheets did was give this guy pupils. Don't skip the pupils, they make this bugger come to life!

That "fan mode" will tend to chew up the paint on the hood vents, custom or factory paint but custom especially, and sinks his head too far in for me personally. You can get it close enough without doing the fan mode or destroying the paint and it will never look like he's wearing a mink fur. Never has. I don't get why people even say that really but eh.

You need to get the chest halfway transformed, pull the arms off, get it at an angle to where you can get in there and gently pull out on the sides of the fenders helps a bit, and then finally try to get in there. It's going to be tough no matter what you do over how cramped it is in there. If you screw up on the yellow stripes ,say getting yellow where the black goes, just go back over the black section and it's fixed. Same as the rims and tires, easiest way to fix paint overage from the rims onto the tires is to just use flat black over the tire portion when you've got the rims done. Perfect everytime. The headlights you need a small straight bit and exactly like Cheet said, take tiny bits of the rods holding the lenses in out. For such a small figure there is a LOT going on with it. People underestimate it till they get in there. Mine looks ok not even being all the way done but nowhere as good as Cheets does.

The Cherry red along with the flat dull red still give him a nice contrast I'm unsure if I'll bother repainting it though I may just leave the magenta and grey plastic on mine it does not bother me and I PREFER for things to retail a look of a toy still.

I do plan to do all the details work so I would appreciate some comments on have hard it was to get the headlamps off to be able to under paint them - and if you back painted the lights or painted the body they sit on top of.

I bought some modelling foam at the weekend - ostensibly I bought it to use to reinforce the arms on the KO Shattered City Commander I was planning on buying but perhaps it might be useful to make panels to fill in the moulding gaps in character's limbs too.

I'm looking forward to getting Knockout I really enjoyed enhancing P-RID Bumblebee so I think Knockout might provide similar fun.
