When I started this project, I actually thought that a Kup from the MP-01 mold wouldn't be that complicated. Man was I wrong. The basic transformation is pretty simple, but getting it all smoothed out and lined up was tricky. It took lots of styrene, Bondo and other various fillers and putties. A big tool that I tried out for the first time on this project was a wood rasp. It's a heavy toothed file, intended for wood, but they can cut though plastic really fast. I mainly used one on the shoulders to round them out. Once I got them ground down I resurfaced them with Bondo auto body filler and Quikwood wood repair putty. Recoil, Kup's Targetmaster was made from a Classics Legends Starscream.
I've been spying on this project over a Sector 70 for awhile now....GREAT job, your work keeps on getting better and better!
I'm loving this, your work at this scale is really incredible. I saw it first on sector70 too, thanks again for the advice on my megatron mate
Are you kidding me? From an MP-01? That my man is ridiculous.....ly AWESOME! He looks great, like he just stepped out of the toon. Excellent job.
Thanks everyone! I'm really glad that you like him. I didn't go into this one thinking that it would take so long or that it would be so close to my heart by the end. Here's a few more pics and some early WIPs.
By the way- I'd be interested to know if anyone can guess where I got the stickers on his knees and truck bed.
Tom, that's some pretty f#ck'n sweet work there! Luv it! As for KC, You are one lucky bastard mate! I might have to come over & steal him...
