If you give WSF a good soak or coating in future floor pollish before you assemble it will level the surface quite well.

Oh, should this be done after paint? I'd think painting over the polish would be difficult.

That is a very good question. Hopefully ThinkTank answers you.

I have read in other threads that people have done the future soak/coat first and then painted over the polish but I would assume if you coated the parts after painting it should do a similar job?

I have just ordered one of these and your paint designs have inspired me. Great work man.

Dipping WSF in future pre-painting does not change the texture. It looks identical to an unfinished piece. Doing it post painting yields the same results.

Thanks a lot! he hasn't as of yet :/

I've been trying to nudge fakebusker into doing another melee master but nothing yet :p

Of a similar vein, if I were able to design a "Human Alliance" version of Jack Darby and scaled w/ the deluxe Arcee.. would people be interested? What if he was scaled w/ the cyberverse Arcee?

Hmm people in other threads have said that it smooths out the surface so that it makes the overall piece look less 'prototype'.

If what you say is true then what is the purpose of dipping that parts in future for?

To test that theory a couple weeks ago I dipped a number of pieces including the War for Cybertron weapons I have. Looking at the pieces now I see nor feel any difference in the pieces.

The point of the Future though is to protect paint when applied. Future protects against chipping but does not change the texture, at least not for the strong flexible plastics Shapeways offer.
