So its a parts-former, nothing wrong with that, but it makes more sense now

thanks.. im currently working on that, and its becoming quite a challenge.. been doing a lot of trial and error on how to make his trailer at least a little transformable(similar to the cyberverse one)

yep, he is a parts former i guess.. sorry im still not quite familiar with the tf terms used here.. =)

    Here man........

What i used for my Megs' Rust is called Pigments, Google it.

But i have to say, its REALLY hard to see the hard work you have done cause .....

    1) photos
    &
    2) The fig just looks like you have applied tons of paint up-on paint. If i may, you should soak him in rubbing alcohol and restart the painting process. Id say use light coats or drybrush. That way all the details pop out. I see you have talent and i want it to shine threw. Just my thoughts.

At the least get a matte coat sealant to knock the glossyness down, you can add paint to that layer later, if you want. Rusting is pretty simple to achieve with no special kits, just acrylic paints. Creatung texxture under the paint makes the biggest difference, otherwise it ends up looking like brown burns,or shit stains.
Get an empty paint pot, and mix up some tan/brown with orange, 50/50 apply that to a dark brown base with a stipple brush to make it imperfect(brush strokes are bad). Add more orange to your mix, and keep adding highlights, let it dry 100% between coats, don't have patience? Get a hair dryer to blow on warm to dry the paint...
If its too bright get your dark brown base coat, mix it with water till its the consistency of skim(fat free) milk, that's called a wash, and you can go over anything with it, especially the rust and crevises. I primarily Citadel aka Gamesworkshop paints they're great for non transforming projects. They have a ton of tutorials for diff painting techniqies, from washes, weathering and drybrushing. Check out games-workshop.com

Screw enamels and the horse they rode in on, acrylics, and laquers are the way to go.
