His wrist blades and sniper rifle are my two main concerns.I am, however going to share one aspect of my project: There will be two heads: one for the movie verse, and one for prime. ![]() "There'll be no more Hail Megatrons from you!" |

Parts haven't arrived, so when I do post the paint wont be complete, and the head wont be the custom one either. I'm having to continue to wait on stuff to arrive. ![]() "There'll be no more Hail Megatrons from you!" |

I originally intended to post pics this coming Monday, but I'm gonna wait a few more days for parts to arrive. There will be no more written updates, next time only pics. I appreciate the patience and interest of all of you on this project. ![]() "There'll be no more Hail Megatrons from you!" |

| IRONHIDE'S DRIVER Join Date: Oct 2011 Posts: 966 Location: ON THE MOVE WITH MIRAGE AND SIDESWIPE Collection Count: 47, and counting! | I've had a lot of questions and inquiries about my custom Mirage figure, so I decided to post these images before completing him. I had originally intended to commission someone to sculpt his head for me, but that didn't work out, so I was left with no choice but to use something that I do have to make one. Needless to say, it won't be as screen accurate as I'd like it to be. I used Testors all purpose primer, with laquer paint in Italian Red and glosscote for the exterior. For the robot mode I used Model Masters enamel Italian Red, gloss black, and silver. I wanted to give Mirage a more intense weathered appearance than we see in DOTM, so I did my best to scar him up a little. His wrist blades and sniper rifle are forthcoming, as I had to place an additional order to get what I needed. There are a few touch ups to do as well, including painting his windshields with Testors window tint. I really took my time on this, and it's been a learning experience for me. Thanks to all the advice, comments, and helpful suggestions from everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to assist me in my first real custom. I'll post final pics ( including of his car mode) when I complete his head later this weekend. Enjoy, and have a great weekend everybody! ![]() "There'll be no more Hail Megatrons from you!" I wanted to first of all see if it could be done, and if so, to get as close as possible to my liking. The PRID Wheeljack figure was the only vehicle mode that best suited Mirage ( trust me, I spent months going over every possibility, including Armada and Energon figures). I was really disappointed by not getting the custom head sculpt that I wanted , but after weeks of waiting the customizer wasn't able to pull it off. I came up with two: one to use as a movie verse, and one that is better suited for a Prime figure. You'll see both when it's complete. I have a HA figure that wont be complete for at least a couple of months, and it is a re-shell using a Maisto Ferrari Italia 458 model kit attached to a Voyager class figure that is made up of several figures. ![]() "There'll be no more Hail Megatrons from you!" |

I was forced to sacrifice Barricade for a movie verse head. I would have preferred to have Sideways, but I couldn't find one for sale, and I couldn't justify paying after market price for a figure that I would just use for the head. ![]() "There'll be no more Hail Megatrons from you!" |
