I'm planning on getting 2 of him and would like to be able to see examples of how he looks painted so I can brainstorm how I want to do it ![]() Feedback |

Also, it seems that it's the peg inside his fingers that holds the rod in place. So if the peg on your RB is missing, Smashmaster will most likely fall out. |

| Quintesson Join Date: Aug 2006 Posts: 616 Location: South Jersey Collection Count: 100+ | I have a sad story about one of my smashmasters.. FeedbackHe was born from transparent detail and after this, I'd have to really NOT recommend this material. It's a bit sharper than wsf, but it is very brittle and even after a few very enthusiastic cleanings paint just does not want to stick to it (seems to work a little better if the pieces are dyed) I wanted to go for a metallic blue scheme for him, but the paint would literally rub off of him (even after clear coating) ![]() ![]() ![]() I decided just to strip him and start over again.. I dyed him purple and just did some dry brushing ![]() I think he turned out well, and it deffinitely looks a lot better in person than in this photo. Well after I snapped that pic, I thought I'd tighten up the joints. I guess I put a little too much super glue on the thigh ball joint and when I reattached the legs they just literally split like a peanut brittle. So I ended up just sealing him forever in hammer mode and he belongs to warpath at the moment. luckily ( and thanks again Ariel) I have that candy red one to play around with. Surprisingly I'm not really too unhappy because he still looks awesome as just a hammer. Sale Thread, tfcc, mp skywarp, classics, robotech |

Sorry to hear about your little accident. I've tested Detail before and I never recommend it, maybe except for simple weapon models. The material is simply too soft and unpredictable. I've never seen a Seismus wielding another Seismus before, so I thank you for that picture. Indeed, it makes the hammer look massive.

News Credits: 5 | Received this recently, I've been loving it - Nice design, clever one at that, and the accessories add a lot to it. I tried coloring mine in some prototype-y red colors... Just as an experiment. The plastic is kind to marker.
On TokuNation as: Malunis ![]() ![]() He's intended to go with a fancharacter of mine who I will be doing a custom for soon-ish. Only problem is... Mine's broken now. I was doing some adjustments to the joints and spilled some superglue on the arm, and it dried quickly enough to seal the arm in place and cause it to eventually break. I'm just gonna glue it in hammer mode, it'll be a solid hammer at least. XP Also, curious if I got the wrong plastic or not since I'm new to Shapeways. Is "White polished" supposed to be this grainy and clay-like? I was hoping for something more smooth and polished, given the name. Details also did not come out so hot, the face is completely non-existent. I could have ordered the wrong plastic, dunno. Please let me know. Twitter - Commission infos |

Sorry to hear about your accident. I will pm you in a few minutes regarding a possible solution. By 'white polished' I take it you meant white strong flexible polished? It's basically white strong flexible that's put in a machine that agitates it with ceramic grains, taking away the top layer of looser, coarse powder. So yes, in a way it can be considered 'more polished' than what it was before. It is not as smooth as injection molded plastic, but it's satisfactory for larger cleaner surfaces. No, at that scale we probably can't expect too much in terms of detail, but careful paintjobs can bring out most of it. You did order the right type of material though.
