Here's my second attempt at these guys. The Powerlinx toys just were nt working so I went with PowerCore combiners since the extra heads are already built in.

Here's the first. I'll most likely be doing Mach again since the insane amount of sanding on the nosecone and tail still left them uneven. This guy will be the only major reworking of any of the molds as the others fit the update well enough

The wings detach to form the chestplate for Landcross just as the original toy did. Of course, he wiill combie with the other toys to form the double bots and the main bot. I preserved the powercore combiner pegs since that adds more combination possibilities.

    UPDATE-15/4/12

Some shots of half painted Wing, Waver and WingWaver.

Here's the ostensible team of Mach and Tackle (sounds like a fishing and sporting goods store). The paint on Tackle could be better but the likeness comes off pretty well.

The combined MachTackle can wield the chestpiece as a shield. There wll be combining guns.

    More updates coming soon.

    UPDATE-4/12/12

Here is a nearly completed Mach alt mode. Some more decals and paint apps needed though. The wings and thrusters are connected and both detach to form the chestplate. A lot of things went wrong with this guy but i'm pretty pleased with his alt mode. Robot mode next.

I just realized who you made that out of. Awesome! Where'd you get the shuttle parts, and when do we get to see the alt mode?

The wings just came from an Armada conehead.

Yeah, Searchlight makes for a pretty decent shuttle once you cut off all the helicopter parts. Bot mode will be up soon once I go back and sort out that nosecone.

Dude, I'm working out a Landcross from PCC toys as well. Your Mach looks rad!
What other molds are you using?
And Have you worked out all of your double-combinations yet?

I'll be taking pics of the work up for all of my double modes soon. Just waiting for another sunny day and some free time. Feel free to use whatever you want from my wip to help your cause along, if you see any worthy ideas. I'm sure I'll be asking you lots, like head choices.

Hey, I just checked out your thread. Pretty damn cool. Our mold choices are the same for three but I decided on Icepick, Searchlight and Smolder for Mach, Takle and Tacker.

Feel free to use my Mach idea but I like the mold you already have picked out. Especially since the shuttle is now obsolete :)

Combnations are pretty much worked out but the combination for LC is tricky. Only way I can pull it off is with a few extra support pieces which will combine to form a gantry for Mach.

Be sure to check out ScrambleCore's thread for Shapeways parts. He's got quite a few goodies to assist in making Gestalts out of PCC commanders.

With only a handful of molds to choose from, I was surprised that suitable molds for all of the characters were present.

The reasoning behind my different choices is mostly for simplicity. Since on mine, all of the top modes (for duo-combinations) will use their legs as arms, my choices were swayed to Bombshock and Huffer for the legs. Just because I was able to find better top modes.

Almost went with Icepick as he suits G1 Tacker far better, but liked Bombshock's existing military vehicle for him -- again for simplicity. I just don't have the time/supplies/spare parts to get into the kind of mods you're doing. I'm sure with your skills and effort it will be done far before, and far better than mine.

Can I put a link to this thread in the first post of my Landcross thread? I think people who are interested in the characters will be interested to see both.

I think the only major difference between them will be my Mach just being a bit more accurate to the original. I can tell your ideas for paint schemes will be far better than mine. I think yours has the better proportions for the combinations as i'm using the arms of the top bot for the duo combinations.

And feel free to link this thread. :)

Dude, I can't wait to see some of those combined modes!! Take some pics of the mock-ups and post 'em up.

-any ideas on head choices yet, or are you leaving that till later?
-and how are you planning your connectors for combined modes? Some of mine will be a simple peg and hole, while others will be magnets. Still working out a few snags.

I'd be content to use the existing heads bar Icepick and Smolder's. The others work quite well.

The connectors will also be mostly peg and hole jobs. Landcross is going to use a combination of the same and a couple other methods.
