My painting skill have atrophied with age - my hands are a wee bit shakier than they were 25 years ago - and painting something as small as the Snitch is touchy, to put it mildly. So please try not to laugh too hard at the spots where my tiny brush slipped. I'm using the alternate wings just because I don't want to move the cannons if I decide to pose him with his wings folded. Oh, and thanks to Daimchoc for the reference pics. I used those and in-game views as the basis for my paintjob.
Thank you for sharing...he looks great! I personally haven't seen a version posed with the alternate wings (except on my computer) so your shots are really useful. @Peagis waiting on you. It's going to be awesome!
I'm having trouble deciding what to do with the wings... you put such nice panel lining in there I'd hate to just leave it...
I got my snitch and purradator in the mail and spent the morning painting them instead of working on my new novel (my beta readers are going to hate you). When I get a chance, I'll post pics... did both in strong and flexible black... really love how it makes Snitch look really dark and wicked and makes the paint pop.
Just a preview of the Snitch I still have to clean up the red and silver some but he's nearing completion.
I'm still debating about putting Decepticon symbols in purple on either wing. Hopefully I'll get Snitch done tomorrow after Church.
No, don't put anything on the wings. Leave them as is. It would be too cluttered with them and would hide awesome detail.
It looks sweet, Pete! After painting my own Snitch I can understand how hard it is to capture all that detail. I love what you did O man he does look tiny perched in Hegemon though...
I just want to share my own!! I painted mine in Frosted Ultra Detail, and the details came out nicely :3 Hope you guys like it!
Any chance of this returning once the new Shapeways material comes out? I've always preferred the Deluxe to the Voyager.
^I second this. I loved the little Laserbeak I painted up about a year ago, but time and general carelessness has caused mine to lose some parts. That, and I think Soundwave and I both agree Laserbeak needs a Buzzsaw companion.
