hello, i wanted to post this thread to show off my new up scaled G1 Devi wing made by Megatron31. i had sent Megatron31 my TFC Hercules chest piece to get a proper mounting piece cast for my new wing and all i have to say is, WOW, this piece is great. the attention to detail is astonishing. i have a great respect for those who can cast and scratch build. the original G1 wing is approximately 4 inches wide and same goes for the TFC wing, its the same size as the G1 piece. to me the TFC wing is too small and inadequate. anyway, please feast your eyes on this great addition to my beloved TFC Devastator. note: the leg extensions are from thedreaded1 here on the boards and they are also great additions. I urge anyone who purchased the TFC Herc, to consider the purchase. Its set at a great price and Adam (megatron31) is a great guy to do business with. this piece is not just limited to TFC herc but rather geared towards Custom built Devastators. it just happens to be the correct scale for Herc. the paint i used is Tamiya TS-24 spray lacquer. the G1 stickers came from Reprolabels.com
ihav to admitt even though i didnt design it for hercules it looks very mch at home on his chest. (also i didnt do the stickers) but it all looks fantastic barry thanks for showcasing a colored one for me
that does look pretty freaking cool...can you post a full shot of Herc with the new wing, with and w/o the leg extentions?...and if you're feeling up to it a shot of the old wing with the extentions?
I sure can when I get home from work. Once you have the leg extensions on, its kind of hard to take them off due to the fact that they give herc so much better proportions. I didn't even think about taking them off for the pics.
cool, thanks... i actually have a set of the extentions too, painted and ready to go...but i havent assembled Herc again since i last took him apart cause i don't want anymore wear on the pegs/ports than necessary ya know?
i know what you mean. what i did to some of my connection points is wrap a strip of electric tape around the 2 pegs that connect Hook to Overhaul, and i did the same to all 4 connection points on the legs (both on the extensions and both on overhauls legs for a tight secure fit). no problems so far.
That looks awesome.......get a G1 head on there and it'll transform (forgive the pun!) him even more! I just had to double take the leg extensions.....I need them!
thanks for the updated pics...that all came together so well...the leg extentions really help with the proportions of Herc and the new chest sheild looks even better with them...i'm wondering if it might look too big w/o the extentions?
so my leg extension set is white color, if I use the spray TS-24, will it come out closer color like your?
Hi, all of the purple bits were painted with Tamiya TS-24 purple, so if you want to do paint anything on him in that color, you may want to paint all in that color, because the stock purple is a bit to "hot" compared to the Tamiya muted purple tone. I'll post up some updated pics of my TFC Herc. Ive since done a few more nice mods since then.
