Me either! But if this first magnifying lens works, it'll take a while to cut all the other ones as well...
First thruster done! I've finished one of the thrusters! I took these pics right after I glued the pieces together. The next morning, the lens had fogged up, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out! You can't really tell from these pics, but before the fog, the LED and everything inside were still distinct. Now with the fog, it's just a bright glow with it brightest in the center, just like in the movie! I'll have to take pics of it next time I work on it to see if the difference shows up at all...
Thanks! It was more tedious than I thought it would be. I don't know how guys like Big Hank and Koof put LEDs in smaller TFs so well...
I don't think you can really tell from these pics, but I just finished the far right thruster and it's still not as foggy as the left one I finished earlier. Eventually it should also have a nice glow... I did the outside ones first because they're bigger than the inside ones. I figured if I accidentally ground away too much of these, I could use them for the inside ones...
Thanks Andy! I think these will be the last pics I post here until I get both of the top thrusters done...
Thrusters complete! Finished the thrusters! They still could use some clean-up, as well as the inside, but I'm going to do that here and there at my job. Now I can finish up my Human Alliance Hound at home
Thanks guys! No video, Andy. They don't flash or anything, just turn on and off... One of the LEDs gave out yesterday due to a bad connection, grrr!!!!
Did some painting on this guy last night. As I was going, I decided to paint one side so I could compare the results with the unpainted side. I'm planning to do a black wash on the painted side then add more silver, then do it all to the other side as well. I'm also planning some gold details. Let me know what you guys think! I added a piece from a BK Megatron inside the "cage" to cover up the apoxie sculpt. Next I plan to do something similar to the Lego covering the battery...
