Scrapacius Famishius (Shapeways)

Scrapacius Famishius
Update Mar 14, 2012

Something I wanted to do for a long time, here are the Scrapaci, the hungriest
pestilence in the universe!
For now they come in a 5 pack, and each of them are composed of 3 pieces
each. Really intricate stuff.

Each scrap has a hinged jaw and ball jointed neck, and their little legs can clamp
onto any 3mm rod. Surprisingly, their jaws can bite onto 3mm sized stuff as

I've printed them in both WSF and FUD, and both worked pretty well. The details
are definitely much clearer in the FUD version (especially the teeth). If you can
spare the coin, I recommend getting them in FUD.

In terms of scale, they are not as tiny as the ones in the show,
but they are made to be as small as physically possible with reliable joints.

"Hey Bulkhead, what are these guys?"

On the first version, I had a scary time with the neck balljoint stem as I felt like
I'm going to snap it any moment.
Thankfully I didn't, but I've reinforced the neck stem in the latest version.
Still, if you are going to order them in FUD, please assemble them carefully.

I really love these guys as I felt I got quite adventurous in their design process and it paid off.
I was pleasantly surprised they printed out so well too. Comments, love, critique much appreciated!

You can order them here at
Scrapaci Famishius 5-pack on Shapeways.

Also, scrapaci have been infesting my friends' places!

It's a plague of intergalactic proportions!

Fakebusker, you have once again proven yourself to be so awesome that I can't find enough expletives to properly describe the emotion I'm feeling.

Once I get the money, I may get a set of these or two over your Voyager Sentinel add-on.
