Here we go 90% paint and build for a good friend of mine.

I forgot to cast the Dino legs so will have to wait till next week.

Painted using Vallejo paints and satin sealant. I really enjoyed painted Swoop and being a cartoon fan I always wanted to give Cell Shading a go and this is how he came out.

No Photoshop used this is the real deal.

    Hope you enjoy.

    All the best Arun

    Update 1 Below

Hi All I was waiting for some products to turn up today for MP Slag and thought I would get this idea out my head.

I want to say 1st that I loved the work that others have done with the silverbolt mold and I to made one of these.

The only thing that bugged me about this Swoop was he was just to short and did not fit with the rest of the Gang. Well I have started on rebuilding mine so that he is taller and slimmer.

I might use the silverbolt mold for parts but likely I will scratch build the whole thing after using parts for stand in's.

I also wanted to show just how rough these items look in the early stage before sanding cleaning and casting to try and encourage others to scratch build from whatever you can lay you hands on.
Im not sayong this is the right way to scratch build but it works for me.

Well here we go and all the best.

I think it is HIPS Sheets, some kind of recycled plastic sheet.it is alot denser than foambord. infact it is made from old billboards smiler to walls icecream stands found at most seaside's. it is much easier to cut than styrene and sands like a dream. I use this for all my builds. it is so fast to work with and is almost as strong as styrene and best of all FREE

you can find thinner stuff from your local best buy store. LG and Sony were using this to promote they TV's etc.

I know you have put a lot of work in this, but the torso hips area is disproportionate.. I think if you were to remove the cod piece area and lower the torso it would look more aesthetically pleasing.

I totally dig what you did with everything else..to the point where I am going to steal them if I ever see them.

Once detailed up, that chest panel will be damn near exact. Very much like the G1 transformation.

Great to see this guy being done. Funny how I mentioned the shortness of other Swoops whilst doing a WIP of a more in scale version to my MP collection. You do it in scale, everyone say great stuff. I do and a load of ppl say hes meant to be that short. Im not topo bothered though. Have you seen my version of MP Swoop which is almost complete...

Its gonna be good this for sure. YOu will have a whole bucn of G1 Mp Dinobots this rate. You could even turn them into a combiner, I wont blame you if you didnt. lol

I will be watching this build, I I have learned so much from the way you have done thing
    s. Keep the updates coming, we all appreciate it.

All the best with this build.

Looks good so far. I would probably fill the legs out a bit cuz they look a bit dinky on the wide body. Will you make the beak smaller so that he can look forward...

I was wondering how you did then fine lines detail.

    This is coming along great

    Hi.
The fine detail I used evergreen 4050 v-groove.
I have re-done the head and im looking at the wings now.
I will update in an hour or two with the updated photos.
I think you will be impressed, I am lol. looks much more G1.
As for the legs I might bulk them out but I really wanted to keep him light and agile like a bird.

    Back Sooooooooon

    Update 3 Swoop Head

    Hi All.
    Where to start.
I took a old magic marker and cut it the end off and then i filled it with resin and pushed the cast out.
I then cut it in half and and added some of the black pen casing to form the forehead.

I added a hinge or two and then i filed it down and added teeth and Autobot symbol.

I have also started on new wings.

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think.

    Many thanks Dawgstar

Alt mode is stellar. He's got the signature narrow body and a massive wingspan.
