Awesome. I've been wanting to do something similar to my leader OP. Thanks for sharing!

    Smashs, Megatron31, plowking...Thinking about it!

For hardware, I would have to get and cut all the pins to size. I would also have to build up a stock of screws to include in the set.

As far as doing the mod, you would have to cut/shave off the "anchor" end of the gray connector that goes into the toolbox, and then drill a hole for the screw to attach the new hinge. That's about it. Removing the inside panels of the tool boxes can be a pain if not careful or familiar with them.

I just completed a redesign on his elbows too for movie accuracy. I don't know if I should attach the photos of the new elbows on this thread, make a new thread for all the mods I have done for Striker Prime, or merge threads... (shoulder mod thread + backpack mod thread + new thread to show elbow mods)

Well, I was able to get through your hip mod(still the best upgrade for this mold) with no issues. I'd be willing to give this a very, very careful try.

I'd merge them all into one thread. Less confusing, IMO.

Thank you Superquad for merging the Shoulder modifications thread with the backpack mod thread!

Now I shall share what I have done to the elbows shortly!

    Elbow Modifications

The figure's elbows aren't designed as they are in the movies.
The arms are supposed to bend below the blue disk that is on the outside of his upper arm as we can see here...

From this view, you should be able to see the blue/gold disk! Unfortunately not... totally hidden.

So, I spent a good day's worth of time just brainstorming how I would change how to get the arm to bend below the disk.
Cannot not move the disk higher up the arm as it would obstruct the door/shoulder panel from closing all the way when putting Prime into truck mode.

So, that means the new joint has to be below the existing ratcheting elbow.
However, there is not a lot of room inside the forearm to make it work.
I know some people are opposed to using lego pieces.
Although, after seeing radicon "Actual Customs" making this method work,
I decided to look into the joints being offered with Legos.
Wow has the tech evolved since the 80's hahaha.

I decided that I could make use of Lego's ratcheted joints today!
They are sturdy, and have a tight click for each position.
So I went ahead and cut away on Striker Prime's elbows and upper forearms.

    Here is the work:

Legos attached under the elbow joint and inside the forearm, elbow parts shaved down to allow proper clearance for the bend to work.

Top end of the forearm reshaped to accommodate the bend as well - the forearm covers will be closer to the elbow when bent.

Inner side of elbow also has a copy of the blue/gold disk molding which doesn't belong!
So I removed it and replaced it with a couple of washers and retained the original elbow screw.

As an unforeseen benefit, he can bend his arm well beyond the 90' mark now!

Mikaela: "I just have a weakness for hot guys with tight abs and really big arms."

Sam: "[confused] Big arms? [swallows] Well, there's a couple of new additions to the car. Like, I just put that light there. And that disco ball. And so the light reflects from the disco ball."

    Both elbows now modified!

Thank you! It took a bit to get used to seeing the figure's arms bend in this way, because the way it was designed gave his forearms the "longer" length of the arm. Measuring the half point of the arm actually matches up much more closely to this new modification which I didn't anticipate. Cool though how it worked out!

alright, how much for the fender swivel parts? or is there a way to make my own out of some other material? (maybe if I had the measurements?)

I was also thinking about this mod. You've beat me to it:)
looks great. But does the regular joint still work. Because i wanted to do
this to give ops double jointed elbows and possibly knees.

Absolutely! The integrity of the original elbow joint remains intact, which is why in the previous picture you can see how close his hand can get to his shoulder!

Thank you guys. I am still finalizing the design of the rear wheel covers hinge. I am looking at being able to supply these for people. As soon as i am able I'll let you know.

Haha, well not much is that far off on this figure! Unsurprisingly though, I am redesigning my Stealth Attack Bumblebee's forearms to be more sleek and slim!

Nice mod. Will this still be able to transform in truck mode? Can we see some pics? ;)

Yes it does. This new elbow mod does not change the length of his arms. I can take pictures when he is all back together.
