Actually you can coat the parts lightly in liquid greenstuff and sand it down smooth, it elimiantes most of the sand texture. That's it.

great work on these, I'll be ordering soon!

Crap. Maybe I should make the ax one piece. Mine came out the same way but had other printing problems so I thought it was just mine. The model for the peg and the hole are exactly the same diameter. The only thing that would account for the change is the variance in printing.

The variance is huge then! The peg isn't half as big as the hole

Printing as one piece is a bad idea, no attachment to hands then....

Crap. I need to address that then. The ax will be unavailable until this has been addressed.

    Lightwave 3D.

Maybe you could make it like fakebusker with his mega-mace? He used bigger ports

Actually, to make it one piece it a good idea, just need to know how.

    Here's a thought:

You could make a section of the axe handle with two flats 180 degrees apart, up toward the blade, a little over the length of the width of the hands. This way, you can slip in the axe in at this flats area (since fake's hand holes are open at the palm), rotate 90 degrees (securing it into the hand), and slide it down into position. OR, you could make these flats as long at the axe handle itself, and do steps 1 and 2 anywhere along the handle. Sure, this may limit the way Optimus wields it (one way), but how many ways should someone wield an axe?

Just a thought. I can provide a sketch if you'd like.

Well I got the shield today. It's pretty cool. It has a few areas I need to address. One of them being a ball and socket joint in the back didn't print hollowed out and I don't know why. I've sent an email to Shapeways to see if it was a printing anomaly or if the model changed from what I uploaded.

Could you make handles that have a side peg so that I can plug it into the 5mm ports on the side of dlx prime's arms?

Maybe a bit too ambitious but are you looking at making some of these concepts:

    Massive Black, Inc.

The most difficult would be the modular shield I think but if you ever do these it would be awesome.
