Burnout V4

The moment I saw pictures of Prime Wheeljack I knew what must be done.

I present to you Burnout Version 4. (Burnout is my custom character FYI)

Also, RIP Rumble Thugger whose leg broke while shooting these pictures. He will never transform again...

The set up didn't work quite as well as I had hoped. I kept struggling to find an angle to shoot that would show off what was going on and Burnout at the same time. Oh well.

Damn that guy looks siiick. Don't know much about Burnout, but he reminds me of the club exclusive SG Drift.

Love your city scene too!

Oh I guess I should say that Burnout is my custom character. But thanks for the compliment.

The Drift head loooks pretty good on that Prime WJ body... does it fit in the transformation easily?

I had to do some surgery on the Wheeljack body to get the head onto it. For the transformation it isn't quite as solid as Wheeljack but it's 98%. The hands and the head compete for space but that's made easier by tilting the head down as far as it will go.

It's not bad at all just a little more work than Wheeljack.

He looks great! The only minor critique is the paint looks a little thick. It does have a nice shine to it though. The head looks cool.

Really? I'm not sure how I could make it look thinner. Had I not used as many layers as I did they underlying white would have been seen. And the gold had a similar problem.

Nice work. Great to see it complete. Love the direction you took with it.

You did this with brushes, right? I find spray paints give a much smoother finish, though you have to be more careful with your set-up.

Thanks, deliciouspeter.

Yeah SMOG, this was dry brushed. I'm not a huge fan of spray paint because it doesn't give me the fine control dry brushing does. But I don't think it would have been possible with this figure. Wheeljack isn't really able to be taken apart for painting. Or at least that is beyond my skill. He has pretty much all pin joints that I can't detach. It was a little annoying.
