The paint I used are Citadels. The Codex grey there is actually my own mix. Fortress grey for the dry brushing and white for the edging.

I know everyone wants a gloss coat but with the texture on it that gloss will look like a bit of a mess, not like a shiny piece of metal. The light would glint off of every little ridge.

 

Hmmm. Would drybrushing a bit of mithral silver have worked?

 

That's the thing, go watch the show and you see he has a sheen to him but he's not shiny. Holding him in my hand he has that bit of sheen but it doesn't come across in my light box.
Silver or gloss would make him look shiny. Drybrushing mithril would add a color to a figure I'l already pleased with.

I might think about swathes of gloss here and there to catch the light at specific angles but honestly I'm very happy with it as is.

If we are lucky, a 3rd party company could be working on a show accurate replacement
gun for that mold...

its a great custom. truly outstanding. you mentioned that in the show he is grey with a bit of shine. is this what you meant?

Yep. The way it moves about in the show is almost impossible to replicate without actual metal to bend the light just right.
