I love the movie aesthetic and the fact the toys' vehicle modes are so realistic. The Alternator toys also had very realistic alt modes, so I'd like to alter mine into human alliance toys with movie aesthetics in robot mode. I'm starting with Hound because 1) I have two of him, 2) I've always liked him, though I never had his toy, and 3) he was in the first movie's PSP game and I was really hoping they'd make a toy of that.
Made Hound human friendly First thing I wanted to do was make Hound able to hold humans. It was really easy for him, I just had to cut away some plastic squares that were keeping the humans' feet in front from going further down. Now they fit, but the steering wheel gets a little squished... If I wanted to get a second human in the back seat, I'd have to cut up Hound's knees. I'll see how his robot mode goes, but as is he still holds more humans than any other human alliance toy
Thanks guys! Yeah, I don't know how this will turn out... The main and most challenging thing I'd like to do is make the jeep front collapse into the gap in robot mode. Then most of the other robot parts should be pretty easy to alter and add detail to...
if you could do this with grimlock i would have your babies this is gonna be great, i can just tell. can't wait for the finished product.
Maybe you can get a plastic model jeep to swap out the diecast parts with, cut down on the weight and make mods easier
The WWII Jeep concept looks sick, I met the guy who designed it and he showed me a lot of poses, looks incredible!
Gah this is awesome!!! Its always good to see this guy (easily my fav g1 character) get some love. cant wait to see how he goes.
Not need, this is the Alternator Hound, it's already all plastic Thanks for the positive comments, everyone, I hope I don't let you down
Chest cut Thanks! I cut up the front of the jeep. The attached pic shows about how I plan for it to set on him in robot mode. There's also some tape to show where I'm going to cut the hood. Then I'll have to work on attaching the parts so he can still transform... It's kind of cool that the bumper is screwed on in two places. Now the two pieces can rotate
Hood cut Thanks guys! I finished cutting the hood last night and I got some Lego pieces to allow it to fold. I didn't get a chance to attach them, though, because our baby woke up and was in a bad mood The plan is to have the front halves of the jeep sit in front of the folded down hood...
