Awesome yes, but impossible. It's too small and too difficult to replace the original hands. One can dream :)

Has anyone had any experienced with the "white, strong & flexible" polished materials Shapeways is offering? I've never ordered anything from them and I was wondering about the texture.

Polished is smoother but still grainy. Also, unless the designer planned for it some of the details can be lost

This is my favorite upgrade set Ariel has done. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not getting it. I have a video review which will be up tomorrow if you want an in depth look before you buy. This is a build video (which I normally don't do) which walks you through the process from baggy to finished product.

P.S. The review is in White Strong Flexible.

Ah that's great, really looking forward to your video review.
I do love the set but I don't really have any experience with customizing (sanding, priming etc.)

Gonna check out your video tomorrow!

I should point out the "finished" in this context wont be painted. That will come as an update.

Awesome, awesome, awesomeness. Thanks for all the hard work. You did do some scary things in it though. I cringe everytime I see a fork now.

Just want to correct the point near the end about that $25 limit per order. Shapeways has replaced that with a mandatory $6.50 delivery charge for the US, so you can order as much (or as little) as you want under that one delivery.

Can't wait to the the update painted review!

Oh, and you need to make sure the head faces straight ahead during transformation to prevent damaging the head spike, but I think you know about that by now :3

Great, thanks for the video review.
Was expecting there to be a lot more work involved as I heard the texture of Shapeways stuff was kind of rough.

If I just paint it up though, it should look fine, right?

It wouldn't hurt to sand the knees and crest a bit since they are easy but ya pretty much. Just make sure you wash them well in warm water and brush them clean first.

Excellent! Just ordered the FE Starscream set. One of the knee spurs was missing when I got mine from a fellow board member in Canada so I'm so happy rattraprules told me about this. Thank you both!

Argh! I just got my order. The mold that has the single missiles and knees spurs (which is what I wanted) is incomplete! It looks like it ran out of material or was sheared off. It's not broken, it's just not there!

^ Oh man, you're just not having any luck with Starscream are you?

It kinda looks like the 3d model was somehow incomplete since those "breaks" look way too clean. Anyways, I assume you've contacted Shapeways already, correct?

No kidding! Yeah, I emailed them first at their support address. I haven't received a reply yet.
