The dark grey material in my opinion still has a long way to go, though I know Shapeways has been constantly adjusting their methods so it should get better over time. But I recommend getting a Sharpie to colour the parts you need. It's easy enough.

RID figures have not been released in my area so I can't make promises, but I plan to do the swords and smoke stacks for FE Prime, no worries. No gun though. He already has a good one.

 

If I ever see the fig, this will be on the list of things to get.

I recommend white, and painting it yourself. The effect will be better.

Maybe, but how different can their faces get? It's only the movieverse so far that the seekers have drastically different faces.

Edit: After reading a bit of the discussion at this thread, I was thinking yeah, different expressions could be possible. Like, anyone noticed Thundercracker always has a pissed off face?
And Skywarp a permanently stairs-pushing-downer face...

Well, if it's exactly the same as the mass release model, then I don' think I'll do it. There has to be a very good reason for me to start a project...

 

are you planning on making an accurate cannon for megatron, and more accurate blasters for optimus? that would be sweet!

 

oooh how about designing some PRID Soundwave compatible minions. That could be a bit of a challenge.

They haven't really addressed his other minions in the show, but I have heard that he does have more than just "laserbeak". We ARE getting a deluxe Rumble though in the main line but who knows how he is going to be portrayed. Maybe he and his brother Frenzy no longer live in/on soundwave but are simply loyal to him?

Maybe Ratbat and Ravage could be alternate chest pieces, or store elsewhere like on Soundwave's back (actually his butt). Even if they peg to his butt the bulk of it could flow up towards his shoulders, accenting his wings and such.

or weapons. they could be weapons.

 

Anybody have any experience with the red material?

I'm mostly interested in the head spike and missiles, and I'd get much more simple and even color that way than if I used paint or sharpies, so I wonder if it'd be a good idea.

Any comments on the installation and fit? Do the pieces work ok for you both in bot and jet?

The fit for the missles was a little tight on the tabs (nothing a little sand paper couldnt fix). The crest was a little scary to put on but once I pop it in it was golden. I think I was a little more carefull with the pieces though I have never worked with shapeways stuff and I was scared I would break it..I havent transformed him yet I I will do it this afternoon and let you know...
