    vehicle mode wires and chains

Thanks again to Dub for this idea (see my sig)! I'll paint the blue block pieces silver next time I do some more detailing. If these interfere with the Jetfire combination, I'll probably remove them...

    Thanks guys!
I cut them from actual electric wires that I had left over from LED work. I then twisted them around a toothpick to get the curl. I might replace these ones if I come across some thinner wire...

You might check toddler toys - sometimes they have thin plastic coiled plastic spirals (to simulate wires) that could work.

    Removable chains

    Thanks guys!

I decided to make the chains removable so they wouldn't interfere at all with robot mode...

    back paint details

Earlier I had painted mostly silver on his back panels, but I wanted more blue to show through. I worked on fixing that the other evening and tried taking pics in a better lit room...

    Trailer

Huge thanks to Snake_eyes1975 for selling me the trailer and my Facebook friend, Alan, who created the original and gave me a ton of advice. His original is much better than mine and is for sale: Custom Transformers DOTM Leader Class Optimus Prime Trailer 1 of a kind

Unfortunately the stripes don't quite match the movie. I tried to use measurements of online pics and math, but instead I should have just tried lining up the slope with the wheels to match the movie...
I know the mudflaps aren't movie accurate, but I had to add some Reprolabels after waiting behind a semi at a light with white on black mudflaps :)

I've also been applying some Bare Metal Foil to chrome him. Still several more areas to do...

    Vehicle mode and swords chromed

Thanks guys! I'm hoping to fill that trailer with nice accessories for Optimus. Soon I plan on starting an add-on set for the Optimus/Jetfire combination...

I finished chroming everything I wanted to in vehicle mode. I had chromed the front wheels, too, but removed it because the back wheels were too hard. I think I'll just paint them if my silver paint is shinier than the stock paint...

I also chromed his swords :)

Question: What should I do with his silver robot mode parts? Should I keep chroming them? Or should I dry brush them?

Dry brush. I think the chrome would be too shiny for a war robot.

Thanks! Yes, I think I will paint the robot mode. I just finished painting my leader RotF Megatron (hopefully post pics tomorrow) and really like how it turned out...
