The reason that the shoulder connector is that long is because of the Bruticus Maximus mold. I made the length similar to the Crossfire set so that every Energon(and TFC Hercules) combiner could utilize the shoulder extender. I'll look into making other options sometime down the line.

Right now I only have the forearms planned and a drill attachment. I am open to suggestions so throw them at me if you have any.
See my response to CodeXCDM. ;)

Glad you're liking what you see!

I like the breeze block ideas simplicity - but if you wanted to get complex you could have a rail with sliding hollow ratcheting block in it that allow both combiner pegs to be used to support the leg from the bottom and a single post from the commander that is acting as the torso would go into the center one - as all 3 slide about you could adjust the way it stand with ease.

Is it possible to make a drill for PCC Sledge ? that isn't a minicon ?

I was thinking, Did anyone ever make replacement inner pieces for G1 Overlords jet nose since the ratchet often breaks in half ?

Looking at TFC Not-Bonecrusher I notice the type of bulldozer he is actually has a big blade on the back for tearing up the ground - I'd love to see one of them made for him.

Slight arm extensions (even if they overlap) would really help Conny-Max's arm articulation - AND HE'D REALLY LOOK INTERESTING WITH G1 SCRAMBLE CITY LIKE FOOT PADS, new opaque hands and a chest plate and rifle. I wonder if it might even be possible to make the foot plates similar to the energon ones but a bit stronger and with lateral tilt and still able to make into grabber claws for the individual vehicles.

I would image Fans projects might one day get around to doing something like that though. unless they think there's no point with all the other big D's coming out

How about an energon combiner connecter extension thing with a ratcheting joint in the middle. Specifically to give hurcules more shoulder articulation?

Already have a Leg Connector available in the store for PCC. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radic...amble-cores-shapeways-site-2.html#post6551101 Here is a previous post about it.

I don't have PCC Sledge so I wouldn't know how to make the right adjustments to give him a real drill. :(

I'll put that under consideration. :thumb

OK, a quick round of feedback:

My stuff came in, I got a 4-pack of the of the PCC->PCC binder blocks, a set of fists/guns, and 2 sets of the Leg Adapters

Over all, I'm very pleased with the products, the PCC>PCC binders work VERY well, I wish they had a little more surface detailing, but with paint they'll probably look swell!

Honestly I haven't found a config for the fists/guns yet, but it looks like they use the same port as the binders, and they parts LOOK nice, so I don't anticipate anything but love!

Now the leg Adapters, this was the part I most wanted, and most wanted to work. I could tell from looking at them that they weren't going to be rock-solid, and I wasn't expecting them to be. In order to accomodate the the flexibility of design, you have to make certain sacrifices. Even understanding and expecting all that, however, I found that the parts were not functionally effective. They attach correctly, and a figure will BALANCE on such a set-up, but the open-ended "wings" which attach to the "foot" figure just don't have enough grip. They'll slip off at the slightest provocation, and don't even think about staying if you do the "pick up the figure by the joint" test.

To my eye (I'm no engineer, but I can do a solid radicon build when I want to!), what these need is to have the open-ends of the wings closed off. The parts are just too flexible to generate any real friction. Closing the wings might limit the universalness of the parts, but I think they would still work as intended for the majority of the figures.

I'd also love to see some ridges added to the interrior surfaces that could "bite" onto the groove of the PCC blocks. It's not needed for the PCC>PCC binders, those are robust enough as is, but the ridges might help the leg adapters work that much better, including the center-top connection point (which is MUCH stronger, but still could stand to be a bit stronger).

Don't get me wrong, I'm loving this stuff, and its among my favorite Shapeways purchases so far, and I'm DYING to get hands on the Energon-PCC converters! But, there's an opportunity for improvement on the legs, and wanted to share, since I may be the first person to have a physical print in hand.

    Keep up the great work!

Glad you're happy with your items!
I pulled the PCC leg adapter from the store for the time being. Once I receive mine(don't know why I haven't gotten it yet), i'll see if i'm having the same issue with the adapter that you did. I think I might have a way to solve the issue you are having but I have to wait for my hard copy.
Also when you have the chance, please post some pics here. I would LOVE to see how you are utilizing the parts.

Here's a little teaser on how I have used both PCC blocks with the Energon/PCC blocks.

    My pleasure!

Once I come up with a config that LOOKS like something, I'll be sure to post. I only had a few minutes to toy around with it yesterday after I got the box.

Also HOT DAMN its exciting seeing those Energon style guys mounted on a PCC commander!!

Well, it's no Hercules, but this is the first hybrid I've managed to put together that looks like something and works thematically:

Hehe, thanks! I eventually want to use the Scramble Core parts (Such a PERFECT brand name for these parts, whether you intended it or not!) as part of a more involved build modding figures and such, but right out of the bag, they're fun to play around with.

The real problem (or should I say, challenge) is that not only are the PCC guys not intentionally designed to act as limbs, MANY of the designs seem to peg in securely to each "final" mode, and flop pretty loosely around in any "in-between" fan mode, so it's hard to get secure configurations, but there is definitely serious potential here!

I really like where this is going. That's the one design element I like better on Giant is the treads on the upper arms (though I do like the engineering of having them as forearms too) This would give the option to display it either way though! I know we don't have hook yet, but I'm guessing that it'll require an adapter due to the added depth the treads will add to the 'armpit'? Also, the drill idea is very cool too!

Love what you have done so far!
I'll admit this isnt the perfect system but alot of the PCC Commanders have potential. It's finding the "right" combinations that makes this work. Once I have a little more time, I'll post pics of all of my limb combinations to help whomever needs ideas for arms and legs. If anybody here has ideas as well, please post them here.
Yup an adapter will be part of the set. It will utilize the Energon shoulder connector. Once the final build is out, pics will be up of the final product.

I prefer the new TFC devy design with the treads as forearms, clever really, utilizing the vehicle as the whole limb, but this is gonna be a really cool mod regardless...it'll be nice to have the option to have it displayed either way...I'm definitely on board...

Do you have plans for any other feet? I think the A-10 energon mold could use some work. Everything else looks great so far, can't wait to use some.
