why not make the mandibles on shrapnel parrallel at the tip? Just curious?

The mandibles were based on the toy where in robot mode the tips angle out. But in insect mode when the mandibles are closed then they run parallel.

 

Ah good, I guess I couldnt visualize them closed well enough. I will find out soon though!

Spoonman hasn't been on here since December. And Rumble 619 is relatively active but hasn't responded to my question about this project.

The FP-DX Armored Battalion has G1 weapons. The repaint of Thundershred (Chop Shop colors) has mandibles more suitable for Thundershred. While Thundershred's mandibles are more suitable for the Chop Shop colored version. So I plan to just switch them and repaint them. Storm Bomb and the Barrage colored version of him won't be as easy because the Barrage colored version needs horns like the original G1 Barrage has. But the horn the Barrage colored version comes with might work well enough for Storm Bomb.

 

I understand that this a zombie thread and all but this is very disappointing. I hate when this sort of thing happens.

I "reserved" a set back in August of 2011 but luckily never put any real money down(I was more interested in the replacement heads than anything else).
I remembered it tonight and was wondering what the hell ever happened to this project tonight and low and behold it's been dead in the water for years.

I certainly hope the people that put real money down for these projects and the other projects mentioned got their stuff. Like I said, I really hate when things like this happen in our hobby. People getting ripped off is not cool at all.

Now I don't know if you're trying to accuse us of anything or not but let me put this to rest right now........ WE NEVER TOOK ANY MONEY FROM ANYONE AT ALL!!!!!!!! NO ONE HAS BEEN RIPPED OFF.

Yes we did have a reserve list for people so that when we had made enough units to start selling we could contact people in the order on the list to inform them that we were ready to start excepting orders and make arrangements for payments. We never asked for any payment up front at all. I received multiple pms from people wanting to pay in advance and I declined each and every single one. The reason why we never asked or accepted payment in advance was just in case we couldn't get these done for some reason.

I'm sorry we disappointed a lot of people by not getting this project off the ground. We both feel as though we've let you guys down. Unfortunately real life has been hard on the both of us and especially spoonman who's still dealing with some personal things. We were having issues with the molds and spent a lot of money trying out different materials. Then personal matters started popping up like wild fire for both spoonman and myself. I personally never gave up on this idea and neither has spoonman.


Again,sorry for the let down but just know it still might happen. And also know that WE HAVE NOT RIPPED OFF ANYONE WITH THIS PROJECT and I resent that anyone would even come at me like that. Anyone got something to ask me then ask me straight up.It's not like I disappeared or anything, I've still been posting here on the boards with 100% feedback in both Junkion and Commissions.

 

Wasn't saying that at all. I saw on the previous page that people had paid for other, different projects from Spoonman and hadn't gotten them at that point. Some after waiting over a year(one guy was 3 years) or more. I wasn't a hundred percent sure if he had taken any money for this project, thanks for clarifying.
I was simply saying that I hope those people finally got their stuff from spoonman, was all. Maybe they did, maybe they didn't I just hope they got what they paid for or a refund or something.

 

Guys, if you've commissioned items, keep those comments in the Commissioner's Listing and Feedback. Customs threads are for commenting on the work itself.

 

No harm no foul. I appreciate you looking out for the community like that. I wasn't sure exactly what you were referring to. We worked really hard trying to get these kits right and I guess I took it personally. I apologize for that.

As far as spoonman and his clients go, I don't know. That's between him and them. I talk to him almost everyday and I do know that he hasn't forgotten about anyone. He asked me tell everyone that he's so sorry that his situation has taken longer than expected and thanks you for your patience. He looks forward to getting back to your projects and making it up to all of you.
