I'm waiting on this set too. The sculpt is great but I'm having trouble reconciling the chin. Is it just me or does he resemble a pharaoh of sorts?

 

I'm digging this. It would be great to have two heads! I'm not as opposed to the open mouth as some people. I know that in the past we have seen some head molds that didn't work with open mouth, but I think your shrapnel is actually appealing and simple in a good way. I think it adds personality to these classics style bots. Animated really nailed the "character-full" sculpted faces and while classics don't need to be pushed as much, it adds some flare and life to it.

As far as Chrome, I think folks are imagining you will chrome all these. Haha. These are just going to be resin casts right?

 

Put me down for one. This will really complete the look on Thudershred

 

You'll get my $$$ no matter what - but if you want my 2 pence worth, a good set would include:

Grey pincers
Chrome pincers
A G1 head
Open mouthed head WITH composite insect eye-style visor

 

This is exactly what Thundershred needs, count me in when you're ready for orders.

Spoonman has read the feedback so far for the second head and has decided to re-sculpt a new one.That means there could be 3 heads to choose from.We haven't decided that yet.

Now onto the chrome.I've stated before that there will be NO CHROME PARTS in post #49.I'm sorry for any misunderstandings on this.I guess I should have also posted this on the first page as well.I'll do that right away.

As Zambot stated in his post,these parts are resin casts and cannot be chromed.We checked in to some 3rd parties to cast the pieces in plastic chrome but the cost was just to much for us to pursue.The only reasons the pieces are chrome in the pics is because this started out as a custom figure for myself.I had no intentions on making kits.

Again I'm sorry if that disappoints a lot of you and you lose interest in the set but please keep in mind that we are trying to keep costs down to provide you with a quality product at a reasonable price.As of now the pincers and gun will be cast in grey to match the figure more.But we might also be casting them in a metallic silver as well.It's not chrome but it's as close as we can get it.As soon as the parts are cast we will provide pictures for more feedback.

ok, I'll admit I'm a custom noob. What is resin? Like what does it feel like? is it durable? Will it be brittle? I think I heard the Gyro heads were resin kits, and some people weren't too happy with them. Just asking.

No chrome isn't a deal breaker for me. BUT, it would be cool if you guys do make the pincers in a metallic silver, if you guys could do the claws in a metallic silver too. Just a thought.

No problem man.

Resin is a two part liquid plastic compound that when mixed turns hard.Once it fully cures it is very strong and durable.I have many heads from this and I have not had any problems with them.You can sand it,paint it,drill it,just about anything to it.

If you've ordered any of the Junkion add on parts from Maiden Japan(whose parts are awesome by the way),that's resin.As far as the Gyro head,I don't know why people are upset about that.

I will admit that if it's not done right it can be brittle or kind of rubbery.But of course if pieces come out like that we definitely won't sell them to anyone.

The head/face was my main complaint about the FP Insecticons. So I am VERY interested in this set!

So I took some of the feedback into consideration and made a revised version of the head. Remember, it's the master and still needs to be cleaned up a bit but I toned down the (Holy shit I left the iron on...iron on) look. I crafted it after the final image below. More feedback is always welcome fellas.

Can't wait! This is really cool. I need a second Thundershred! This is my only crit on this new head, is to watch that it doesn't move toward a crooked smile. I did a quick drawover. This is just an EXAMPLE of what I'm getting at. Not gospel. Just to get my idea across visually.
