This was a commissioned piece. Customer wanted that color scheme to stay the same as the standard release figure as much as possible, but I was able to change up the look a bit to make it more palatable. Mix of grays throughout the figure with the bold yellow windows and visor. Painted in all flat colors and finished with dull cote. The red and blue wiring detail on the back and gun is a really nice touch. The 'copter mode looks stunning!
Beautiful. Always love your work. Precise paintwork, that panel lining, and the back side with all the wires is just awesome. Sorry to hear about the name issue.
Nope.... I use a custom mixed wash and a really, really fine paint brush. The trick is to get the wash very watery, and let it seep into the crevices.
Z, this looks really nice! It's very clean work. I'm not to keen on the bright yellow windshield but that's just my opinion. Still kicks total a$$ !!
Man, this thing looks super clean. Awesome work there! Do you have to do anything special to get the cockpit and fans above it to fit together so well in alt mode? Mine just won't stay together well but it's hard to tell what's causing the problem.
Customer request, thanks though! I did have to shave about 1/16" from the inside surfaces between the cockpit and fans. They were almost as frustrating as the legs.
Kind of a trial and error with the inner surfaces? I gotta do something about mine. It's the only thing that bugs me about that figure.
That's what i wanted to say, the Problem Must Be here in Germany with Facebook, but i dunnow here it is... damn, want to add it to my "i like"-list and i can't Edit: man i'm so damn stupid... i was searching for other kitbasher and typed in the searchlist: custom and the result was Customs by-z at the top of the list! Here for everyone the direct link: https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/profile.php?id=100001104402563 now i'm happy
Wow, I love Skyhammer out of the box, but this is great work. My only sticking point is the solid windows, I'd have left those transparent. I can't believe you disassembled the whole thing down to the pins, that must have taken forever.
