Hey guys, here's a handful of WIP pics on another commission I've been working in between the others. I'm doing these for a fellow board member (tannim31). He wants a G1 Rodimus headsculpt for his TFA Rodimus. I had an extra Classics Cliffjumper head, since I took the WFC Cliffy head and used it on the Classics body. I carved away a lot of the helmet and even a bit of the face. Trying to make this look different from the Bumblebee/Cliffjumper mold and I think it's coming along great so far. This is still a WIP and it needs some sanding on the face itself, but I'm working on the basic shape right now, then I'll begin adding some thin sheet styrene and cut out bits to help round and build up the head a bit. I'll update more when I get more done.

Thanks guys--and remember, this is still a WIP and this is only the basic shape of what I plan to build/sculpt onto. Trust me when I say it won't look like Ironhide (and I don't see him in this, other than the rounded basic shape of the helmet).

Are you planning on shrinking the size of the nose?

If you take a look at some of the pics I attached, you can see where I've already started on the nose job. I added some silver so I could see the overall shape of the face painted up--it's not final.

Got a bit more done on this over the last couple of nights. I used some very thin sheet styrene and covered parts of the helmet. Once the glue dried, I used a metal sanding bit in my Dremel Stylus and dropped the speed down to 1, then sanded the areas so they met up smoothly. The head still looks a bit rough, but it's actually smooth right now and completely covered in styrene. I'll be adding some styrene to the top of the head (middle) and building a small vent for the front/top of the head (middle). I also sanded a bit on the sides of the face and I need to sand around the nose (already gave him a nose job before, but I need to smooth that out a bit). Hoping to get more done on this over the next few days. I'll update when I do......and in before "he looks like Ratchet now" lol (again, trust me when I say he will not look like anyone but Rodimus when done and it's still a WIP). :)

Lookin' nice. With this head on Animated Rodimus' body you could come close to a (much nicer looking) semi-accurate depicting of IDW's current Hot Rod design.

Pretty much every G1 character does if you trim them down.

When I get it, I will post a pic of it next to my MP-09 (The way this project is going, the TFA Rodimus will prolly outshine the MP-09 one :)  )

Not sure how it will stand up to that one (don't own it), but I'm shooting for some nice detail on this. I wanted to simply use Cliffjumper's face, but completely change the look by doing the helmet and details onto that. So far, it's coming along nicely. :)  (glad you like it so far, bud!)

Just a quick thought and I should have asked before. Will the TFA Rodimus still transform with this head installed? (if not no worries, it'll look sick in robot mode anyways ;)  )
