Yes exactly what Cybermnky said, and since the new PE Arcee coming out is so expensive i'd rather modify my Animated Arcee for a more classics style.
I think Hasbro would do that if they ever make some new TFPrime Soundwave attachments. I believe there are other items in his list of to do items that he has to work on first. Let's just wait.
Hey Fakebuster, so I recently got my order for these awesome little guys in and I just have to ask you a question. Could you please team up with a 3rd party company and produce these guys as finished figures? I mean building them was pretty cool and fun, but I really, really hate the material and I'm really untalented with paints. I also think that the material just doesn't do these guys any justice at all.
Addressing the Arcee arms, I honestly have no problem with her hands. I mean she can't hold anything aside from her swords, which bothers some people, but not me. My issue is her elbows. I realize they're needed for transformation, but I'd rather have slimmer elbows. Which would make her more G1 accurate, true. But I want to put clothes on her.
Thanks guys! The Snitch should be released soon! I myself can't wait to receive my own and complete the set! I...can't...help...it... But honestly, I appreciate your support. Thanks! Not yet...Let's see how the TFP series matures before I create anything for it. Good suggestion, and in fact I'm in contact with a 3rd party group now and we are actively considering doing an official version of the WFC recordicons. The thing is, we can get away with a lot of stuff in Shapeways that conventional methods cannot do, so you'll have to accept that official versions might have some compromise in design. But, be assured I'll try my best to push the envelope and make them as close to the Shapeways versions as possible. If I'm doing a set for Arcee, it will not be soon cuz I'm still not 'feeling' the idea yet. Also, can I ask for a favour? Can we have this discussion on Arcee be moved to my main Shapeways thread? I want to keep this thread devoted to Thuggers alone. Thanks for the help!
Little video preview (review will be coming in about a week as soon as my new 4.0 Thuggers get here) of the new Slammers and Drillers available for the 4.0 Thugger. So I know you printed them up in WSF and FUD, do you know anything about the "White, Strong, Polished" material or the "White Detail". I'm wondering if either of these would be a better compromise in terms of strength and detail...
I've done the WSP and FD WSP lost too much of the fine details and FD is still to brittle. Just ordered some stuff in WD i'll post how that holds up when i get it.
I kinda swear by WSF, cuz I believe for most of the buyers who want just a figure that's fun to fiddle with and interact with Soundwave, that material is good enough. There are methods to get around the problem of rough surfaces too. Of course, if you are particular about detail and you don't mind the price and risk then FUD is the key. Peagis did an amazing job on the FUD Thuggers I myself still go gaga whenever I see them. In my opinion don't waste your time+money on Detail. They are too soft, and there are always ugly print lines that make them look not much better than WSF. In fact, because WSF is 'fuzzier' it actually looks better when painted correct. Plus Detail is always covered in gunk which is awkward to remove, hard to paint on and gives the model a gummy appearance.
...There's a part of me, some dark part, that's taken the 'gummy' comment...and now I wish for a candy version of these guys. Because then I can put on a Viking helmet and pretend I'm Unicron. ... ...I'll go sit in the corner now, yes.
What on earth are you doing? Now I think hungry, hungry thoughts whenever I look over at my WFC display... They are painted in nice sugary reds and blues as well!
You, my friend, officially have the biggest collection of Thuggers in the world. I don't think I even have that many. It's a nice colourful army you have there It's really Soundwave's pipe dream! We'd see...
I really only copied the plans someone else had here. It was a great way to make cool looking bots without painting them. Plus I pan on using them for pen and paper games because they are right size and are awesome. Now once my pair of birds arrive with my 20 scraplets... You seriously needto stop stealing my money.
The Thuggers? They were X Color Strong and Flexible. 1 red, 1 indigo, 1 black, and 2 dark gray. The painted Thuggers were white strong flexible polished. The Purrdators are white strong and flexible and black strong and flexible. And now that I've had experience with a number of materials I tend to order stuff in white strong and flexible because they feel the best and have the most detail besides frosted ultra detail.
