Those look awesome, nice work!
For the Transparent Detail print, I'd recommend using a knife or something to clear out any uncured material in recesses, and then giving it a good washing with soapy water and a stiff brush. That should help a lot.
Check out my Shapeways store for figures, kitbashing supplies and more! I also have a Twitter now.

Now that i've looked at the pictures in the other thread, i honestly think these look MUCH better than the PE offering. Interactivity with Soundwave, and a more interesting Transformation to boot.

Surface quality greatly depends on the orientation the pieces are printed in. Generally surfaces facing sideways will have tiny but visible lines due to the layering of the prints, and surfaces facing up/down could possibly be smooth. As for slopes and spherical shapes forget it, there will be contour lines everywhere.

Grainy is a word more suited for WSF. The detailed materials are layered.

Good to hear from you, Ram! Thanks for the tip!
However there are so many tiny nooks on this figure it's hard to get everything out. I was trying for the longest time yesterday.

I have a question. Will there be any uncured material in white detail? I know WSF has close to none.

I think you can follow process's, treadshotA1 or ramrider's threads. They will have more experience in painting Shapeways stuff than me. From what I know, most model paints can be used.

Btw I'm honoured your first custom paintjob will be on my figure!
