Glad to see that 1.) My custom is still providing inspiration and help, and 2.) That you're still charging away at this. Keep persevering! Looking forward to seeing more!

    vortex attached

And I'm glad to see you're still checking it out! Yeah, your work brings out so many details! Like the weapons (I have to figure out where I want to put the Mech Tech ports for the shoulder cannon) and the tongue! Moy's pics have also been beyond helpful. I like to keep linking them in this thread so I can find them easily...

I attached the vortex inside the head using some plastic fusion. In one of the pics below I show how he can still turn his head with it.

I tried putting on the Mixmaster pieces, but I think they're too far back. I haven't glued the connection pieces in place so I can still move them. I'm thinking they'd look better by the batteries... Any advise, Radicons?

    Head "shell" parts

    Thanks guys!
Here's a quick (and blurry) pic of parts I cut out of the supreme Mixmaster toy that I plan on using for the head's "razor shell." I'll probably be cutting them up and trying different arrangements. Big thanks to Tim at the Real Effin' Deal for suggesting a Neo Shifter who should be able to supply similar parts if needed...

    Positioned head pieces

You bet! Slow and steady wins the race :)

Last night I taped the pieces on so I'd know how to fit them together. I moved the voyager Mixmaster's barrel pieces over the batteries, which I think is more screen accurate.
Next I'll start attaching these pieces permanently. I'm planning to put in some joints on the pieces by the face so they can be positioned better when Devastator's mouth opens...

    Battery compartment

Thanks! I'm hoping I can get some ball joints to work with the side pieces so they can be positioned with the mouth opened and closed to different degrees...

It's been a while since I've been able to post updates for this guy. I dropped the head and had two plastic fusioned areas break off. I've reattached them and reinforced them with Apoxie Sculpt. I also put on a cover for the battery compartment, as seen in the new pics. So I've had to wait for a lot of AS drying...

    Jaw peg

The other night I added some Lego pieces to Devastator's jaw so it could be locked together, like I did earlier for his face....

    On all fours...

    Thanks!

I added some ball joint sockets to the jaw pieces the other night. That's where the upper shell pieces will connect into...

I tried standing him on all fours that night and pose his head. I was very pleased with how easy it was. So much so that I'm planning to just finish up the head, convert Scavenger's shovel into "shoulder pads," and just paint. I don't think I'll bother with Overload or new hip connections, at least for now...

    Head flaps

Attached ball joints to the head flaps last night using Apoxie Sculpt. I'm looking forward to plugging them in, hopefully tonight, and seeing how he looks!

    First attempt at head plates

The other day I tried popping in the head plates. Unfortunately, as seen in my latest pics, this doesn't work well. They're too close to the face and there looks like a hump on the middle of his head. I now plan to attach a socket to each side of the battery pack, which should put the plates in the best location...

    Head plates moved back

I moved the head plates back and they look much better, IMO. I attached the new ball joint sockets to the sides of the battery cover. Next I think I'll do the jaw plates...

Someone posted a cheap casting kit in the general discussion forum, I might order it to cast more head plate parts to go all around the head. I'll have to think about it...

    First lower plate

Thanks! I just attached one of the lower head panels, it rotates :)  I wasn't able to put the other one on yet because it broke and I'm waiting for the glue to dry...

    Started tongue

I found parts for his tongue last night. The Legos are from a Star Wars set and the shovel is from a KO G1 Devastator. I just taped in place for now to see if everything would fit but didn't have time to do any heavier work last night. The shovel has a tendency to pop off the Lego clip, but I think some sanding/shaving will take care of that...
