I finally finished painting the Mayhem figure I received last week! He's been painted with Vallejo Model Color Pastel Blue (to basecoat the upper half), Inscribe Blue Mist (upper body top coat) and True Navy (legs). Details were picked out with Inscribe Hollyberry (red) and Golden Yellow, and Vallejo Foundation White. That was all followed up with some liberal coats of Klear (Future) before re-assembling him. First up, a couple of obligatory comparison pics, this time with Nightstick and PCC Caliburst... Here's his rear view. He's got a set of tabs built into his back, which allow him to be pegged into Blurr or Drift's vehicle mode hood. However, they're not obstructive, and don't stop him being just as compatible with other bots than his Gunslinger compatriots. Currently, Perceptor's playing with him... Mayhem's gun mode, here wielded by Drift. And in vehicle mode, here he provides Drift with a functional hood ornament... If you're interested in a Mayhem kit of your own, you can go straight to his product page here, or click my sig banner to check out the rest of my models.
you know not only did you do an awesome job designing these guys, but you do an equally awesome job painting them and giving a small fig like this a lot of etail especially on the face. you dont like many and you will have the whole tm cast from the toon
Thanks, all! Thanks. Memory serves, Nemesispringer gave me the idea to fit it in the bonnet, but it took a little messing about to realise I could use the tabs that normally hold the halves together to help support the weapon. Really? Looks like I need to go back to the drawing board, then - I was going for Haywire... Yeah, you and me both, son. Blurr isn't exactly easy to find round here; I may have to resort to hunting him (and Kup and Scourge) online... Dyeing would be useful to colour parts like the ball joints, but I've ordered (black) dyed pieces before, and still wound up deciding to paint them, so I generally now just go for the plain white (which is cheaper) and paint it from the get-go. Heh, thanks. Small brush and a steady hand. Plus, of course, by painting to the raised edges, you're kinda letting the printed detail do half the work for you. And yeah, I intend to do versions of all eleven main TM partners over time; the one I'm working on at the moment, Sparks, will round out the first five.
Thanks. And I know. I specifically used these colours because I plan to team him with Blurr, but like I said, so far I've never seen him round here yet to buy him.
Thanks for the heads-up! I also hadn't noticed that the two new dyed colours hadn't been made available either. Now they're also available in dark grey and indigo, as well as the white, black and red.
