I like where you're going with this very much, and he looks very sharp in color, but like some others have mentioned, I hope you'll add some more surface detailing to the models, I'd bite on this (and the other critters you've done so far) in a heartbeat if they had a bit more detail and refinement.

You're off to SUCH a good start though!

I MAY just pick up a kit or two to use as a starting point and do my own detailing work though since the core engineering is so nice....

Thanks DL. I'd go back and make some refinements to this guy, as soon as I get all my Minions in order (the ones that fit WFC Soundwave). What details were you looking for exactly? Cables, pneumatics, something else?

Any of the above would be fine, even just some panel-lines so that it looks less like simple geometric shapes, and more like the robot is composed of panels attached to a substructure.

Just to give you an example, here's a little side by side with your model and a similarly-sized Zoids figure (one of my favorites!). Leo Blaze is a little bit bigger than your cat, but not too much so, and is also fairly simple in his over all design, but the surface detailing is much higher. Yes, some cables and pneumatics in there, but generally more of a layered feel.

Not that I expect you to go from your first major print to Tomy-level designing overnight ;)

Don't get me wrong, I am VERY impressed by your work, I've toyed with 3D software on and off since back in the Rhino-days, and have never managed to put together anything that looked like anything, so the fact that you've got a working transforming figure here speaks volumes to your work and your talent.

Oh f*** you DL. You don't know how long I've been searching for a Leo Blaze. I'd almost gotten over the torturous nagging feeling and now you have to bring it up again. :mad  :(  :lol  j/k

For the record, I own a Genius Wolf, which is Leo Blaze with a different head, and it is 8 times as big as AM Tread Partner. However, I will try and add some detailing. Funny thing is, when I first designed this, because it was a remold of a figure meant to fit in Soundwave's chest, I was like "oh shit, I can't add detailing or it won't fit anymore!". Leave it up to me to forget this thing wouldn't fit in Soundwave regardless. :lol

Ip should probably mention you can actually fit this guy in Soundwave in gun mode, and it acts as a chest mounted cannon. Y'know, so Soundwave can dress as Warpath on Halloween. :lolol

Well if you're a ZOIDs fan, I can rest comfortably knowing that the future of TF-Targetmaster-Mecha-Animals is safe in your hands :)

And DAMNIT...you HAD to tell me that there's a wolf-remold of the LeoBlaze tooling, didn't you? One of my favorite molds + a wolf head = REQUIRED addition of my Zoids Wolf Pack...

I may have to dig out my Transmetal Lio Jr repaint of Leo Blaze and snap some shots for the boards ;)

Hey DL, you now owe me an hour of my life. I expect to get it back asap.

In the meantime, this is the result of 1 hour's slaving over the laptop:

    AM Tread Partner V2

I've added twin pneumatics to the torso, cables to the top (though i had to limit this so that it could still be held in gun mode), and remodelled the legs, each of them featuring a pseudo-pneumatic piston and shoulder armor, inspired by Leoblaze's armor.

All this will come at no extra cost to you, as this new version will be sold at $9 like the first one. Ive left both available, incase anyone wants the older version.
