Here's my take on a already great mold by Hasbro. I got a few variations on this guy in the works, but thought I'd throw this one up seeing how he's all done. Special thanks goes out to AutobotX23 for the decals! List of mods: 1.completely taken apart and re-painted pearl white outer shell 2.Rims detailed 3.Front grill, rear taillights, and back window painted 4.paint details and weathering done on 'bot mode 5.custom decals applied 6.custom rocket launcher As always, your comments are welcome! Thanks and Enjoy!
It looks good man, the white is a bit think, but nothing that a light wet sanding wouldn't take care of, the decals really take it to another level too.
yeah to bad the decals are already applied, but my white paints also show brushstrokes... white is a sucky color (well no color at all)
Nice work here, Jason! That shoulder launcher looks great--and I'm interested to know what you used on it also. I'll shoot you a PM later tonight about the spoiler.
I usually hand brush everything, but with white, I tend to hit it with some Krylon Fusion white (usually satin white) and no brush strokes or thickness of any kind.
Hey thanks guys! I appreciate all the comments! Yeah, painting this guy the pearl white was a pain. I couldn't find a pearl white spray can, so I had to hand brush the whole thing. It took several coats just to get past the stock finish (it kept showing through). The one I'm working on now I hit with a dullcote before painting and it applies much smoother. The rocket launcher is actually a Iron man (3 3/4" figure) figure launcher. I had to dremel the rocket to get the tip I wanted (to maket it look like a real rocket) and added a tiny magnet on the bottom of it. Thanks again y'all!
Thanks man. I'm working on one now that's gonna have all this plus the LED's (courtesy of Koof), and Brians spoiler wing. Should be pretty sweet in the end. Stay Tuned!
