As everyone who knows me knows...I love troop-building. But once you get a large amount of the same figure, I start to wonder ho to make each one look a little different.
Thus, the purpose of this thread is to show how to change up your troop-built Scouts. I'll be adding to these pics over the next few months as the ROTF scouts start to (hopefully) drop in price and I can pick up loads for cheap.javascript:emoticon(':D ')

Using the 3mm clips from the Skystalker axe-wings, I attached a load of new weapons to each Skystalker to give each of the 13 I own it's own look, whilst keeping the general Skystalker-ness to each Drone.
The Commander has a Insecticon head attached, then given a deep red wash over many layers. I intend to put a few stickers on him yet..

The Swarm Insecticon in the forground here is a simple re-jig. His legs went where his back arms went, which in turn were placed on the ball-joint where his legs were. Some jiggling about and there you go. A short, beefy Insecticon with no actual bashing done.

Foreground Swarm Insecticon is the basic Insecticon. Nothing done to him...yet.

Last of the 3 was a simple bash. Chopped off the Insect head, and with some superglue, put it to the balljoint where his old head was. To change him up a little more, also removed the back arms and clipped one of the forearms to the front arm to make a massive claw hand.

    More to come!

Great looking paint apps so far man. I really like the idea of this thread man and can't wait to see where it goes. Is one of your future Skystalker repaints going to be a Ratbat homage? If know you should seriously consider making it one. I really like those and actually want to make one for myself too. I just got a Sunstorm for Christmas yesterday and am considering repainting him as Ratbat... eventually, after I get all my other half complete customs out of the way. It'd be so much easier to make a Ratbat from an original Skystalker though. Good luck on your future repaints!

Dammit, you're making me want to troop-build, and I can't afford to. I don't have the Insecticon mould yet, but I'm actually digging Skystalker quite a bit once I finally picked him up.
I'm curious how you attached the Silverbolt rifle to the HWD, and what weapon you've given the Bomber. Do they stay mounted in vehicle mode too?

Not a bad idea y'know. Hmmmm. SpyStalker Drones...

That is awesome! Yep. Swarm Member 4 will have that being done to him!

They do. They are attached to the clips from the wing-axes, and can reclip back on to them for vehicle mode. I'll be taking proper photos over the weekend of all 13 drones and the commander with a proper look at how the clips get put on.
The Bomber has (I think) some old G1 seeker missile pods that were in my bits box.

Thanks for all the good words guys!
