Hi Ya'll

This is my newest project, Classics/generations Overlord.

I do believe that Tidal wave is a very good choice of mold to reproduce the psycho giant in it's full range because of his 3 sections.
I've been working on this guy for the last two weeks already, inspired by Nick Roche/LSOTW character.

I really (really!) apreciated the excellent previous Overlord homage work posted by Sabrina, but I just decided to get another route and make it completely different instead.

No Masterforce elements will be used here, just a tank and a huge jet fighter.

I've got 65% done of this big guy, and it still will take a while to get it fully done.
Paintjob ain't my forte and probably will be a pain in the nuts, but I can deal with it...
I'm planning to give him a clean paintjob and a little bit of the LSOTW love.

Gave him kinda accurated head, mounted over a modified OP Masterpiece and also gave him "the lips" LOL

The articulations are already perfect, working really good.
Just need some good planning on the tank turret and a few details, the jet is almost completed.

Too much to do yet...but I believe it will get done till the end of january.

* Mega Shield, side wings and back paint apps. - First coat
* Torso detailings

*Torso, chest panels, head and right arm paint apps.
*Waist "belt" glued and the paint apps will be aplied later.

A a few "inner blind spots" to touch up in torso and arm/forearm.

looking good, I'm playing around with this concept myself. What did you use to make the jet cockpit?

May I suggest the gun turret from either Blugeon/Banzaitron or the arm from Classics Galvatron, they bot split along the middle and Galvatron's even allows the cannon to be removed for Overlord's rifle.

I used random parts of toys I had to make the Mega jet. I'm not sure what they were, because it was part of a lot I've taken from a friend of mine. All I know is that the cockpit was a japanese toy.
Other parts I used were ripped off from G1 Broadside and that space shuttle from Landcross.

I don't think Galvatron's turret would be a good choice because it is too small and I'm planning to use the epic original Overlord rifle on the turret.
Bludgeon's would be a better choice but I don't have this toy and to be honest, I probably wouldn't disassemble him If I had him...He is to cool to be sacrificed

Thanks Sabrina this is a big project, you know I love your version.

I'm not using powermasters because my version is based on Nick Roche's LSOTW Overlord. But I'll be using his original rifle for sure.

 

This really does look like he's got the potential to be great. Really digging what you've got so far, he'll look the business when he's squaring off against your Wreckers. Only thing I'd suggest at this point is maybe dropping his stomach guns down a little, as they look a little high up. Are the shields on his chest openable?

 

Thanks for your suggestion, but there is a good reason I put the guns up there in his stomach, I have already added a few more details that will justify that, and you will be able to see as soon I get the pics taken.

Yes, the chest panels open up, just like the original and I'm working on its details right now to bulk it up a little.

I'll be painting the Mega Shield tonight and hopefully the whole jet section tomorrow if the weather don't bitch up over here.

I am a big Overlord fan...Both from Masterforce and LSOTW...But what they did with him and his character in LSOTW was brilliant...

It is great to see you putting your heart into this to capture him!! Looking forward to him getting done...

Dude, can you believe I totally ignored Overlord's existence until I read LSOTW ?

I think it is just because I've never enjoyed Masterforce at all...
But now I too became a big fan of this big guy, actually he's even topping Megatron on my list, which is now my third favorite decepticon, and my first one favorite ever is Shockwave.

But it's really amazing how a good artist like Nick Roche gave this guy some real soul and personality.
This one will be my take and will look kinda different but totally inspired by the LSOTW character.

Well, back to business, I'll be posting some new pics tomorrow.
