Classics Prime / Magnus Cab Replacement Top Here are a few designs for a Classics Optimus Prime / Ultra Magnus replacement cab top. There are four different versions, mostly in the back section of the piece. I may redesign the front as I'm not liking it all that much and may also shrink the sides in a tad. Another issue is that even though Prime has a 5mm hole plug in his normal cab top/gun that 5mm seems larger than the 5mm hole in his hand. The original peg that's on my cab design is too small so I'll have to figure out what this other 5mm hole size is so the new cab top fits properly. - OP Top 1A - OP Top 1B - extended in the back - OP Top 1C - extended in the back with two 5mm peg holes attached for weapon placements. (Tunes v2 gun seen in picture) - OP Top 1D - extended in the back with a 3mm pole w/ a prototype 3mm weapon

Thanks - Hopefully Shapeways continues to be an avenue for our creative sides. Can't say I was planning on it and that's mostly because I won't be buying most of the DOTM toys. However, I'll add it to my list and if I see a cheap Megs then who knows. =) Thanks and yes, all the BC11 parts will be available individually once they go through my final QC measurement checks. Actually Galvy's Cannon is available in WSF though the arm hole maybe slightly small, it'll still work. My next batch of proto's should be arriving soon.
PLEASE DO THIS! It's all that is needed to make that bot shine. I am bookmarking this thread for that reason alone. Nice work!
Ooops sorry I missed your question...But yes I do have something for Classics Rodimus though I failed to realize he has a 4mm peg hole and not a 5mm one. I need to modify the gun so it fits both peg sizes.

BC11 Galvatron Cannon, PLunger and Megaphone Got my last batch from Shapeways and finally was able to take some pictures. The fixes I made seem to have worked.

Thanks! Really? That's odd. A few people have inquired about ordering and with the ears being so cheap I was thinking of doing / handling a group buy just for the ears. If people are interested send me a PM and I'll try and make it happen. Cost would probably be about $4 - the extra $1 to handle postage/padded envelopes and paypal fees.
Hey Sunlink, I have an idea for the Optimus Prime cab top. Firstly I love the idea of having the extended back with the 5mm holes. If you make a handle piece that the topper plugs into to make it into a shield. That way you can make the peg on the topper the size for the back/cab top hole. And make the handles peg the size for Prime's hand holes. The handle would be like the handle on this shield from Calloway: Rodimus sword and sheild kit mk1 by CALLOWAY75 on Shapeways only removable. Not sure where you'd store the handle in Alt. mode though, maybe use the 5mm holes on the back extension of the cab topper. Or make the back extension a bit wider have the holes in the sides like you have them now, but add a 5mm hole in the middle of the back extension for handle storage. Also, adding a large Autobot symbol on it would be great (or add a Decpticon symbol for Nemisis Prime/Scourge). I don't know, maybe you were already thinking along these lines, if so pay no attention to the guy in the corner spouting off at the mouth. I just think this would be great for the classics Prime mold. I've added a very rough sketch of the cab topper/ shield, hope you can make heads or tails of it. But this design has both 5mm holes for standard weapons on the back extension and 3mm bars for clip system weapons on the front of the shield/ top of the cab.
That's a pretty interesting idea. The topper already has a 5mm peg in it to peg into the top of the cab. I'll have to double check but (at least on my Prime) the 5mm hole on top is slightly larger than the 5mm hand hole. (yeah sounds stupid doesnt it but I know they're at least a .1 - .2 difference) I had thoughts about trying to make it a shield but did get lazy and just used it as the back armor. curious but which topper style do you like? The one with the more pointy front (my version "1") or the one with the more shallow point (version "2")?
