Funny you mention that project since I had made some mods to it the other day. I sorta pushed it down the stack to work on some other items but I've had to tweak parts of it before a final deployment. So anytime soon. Maybe by the end of the month depending on how much spare cash I have to print out some prototypes. Awesome custom! Glad you like the upgrade set. This is the Metalhawk everyone wanted!
Either you're out of my way or you're out of luck. G1 inspired Wildrider weapon - two versions one peg handle for Botcon 2011 Wildrider and the other a tiered 4mm/5mm peg for Henkei Wildrider
Consistency is victory. If you're looking for an affordable Transformers line that is near show accurate, has interesting transformations you should checkout the Prime Cyberverse Commander line. I've been highly impressed by almost all the Commander figures (minus Megatron) in that line. Accessories and weapons will always be lacking since they are at a lower price point aka the Deluxe price point circa 2010 ($10). When I got my hands on Cyberverse Commander Ultra Magnus it had a nice feel and look to it. The transformation was somewhat simple but not overly simplistic. What was missing are Ultra Magnus' iconic shoulder rockets. That's when the brain started to tick and tock and these were created: Prime Cyberverse Commander Ultra Magnus 3mm Missile Pods.
Thunder-Surprise Horn Final prototyping has been completed. G1 inspired Bombshell horn replacement for Fansproject CA-04 Stormbomb For those interested in all the Insecticon upgrade parts that I've made I will be making a lot of all of them. It'll probably be up sometime next week.
Are you saying the upgrades with be available as a set? These addons for the insecticons will be my first purchase from shapeways. What material do you recommend?
You got some cool stuff. I wish someone would sell some of these parts already sanded and painted for those who dont want to deal with shapways...
that's the plan. I've been stupidly busy and havent had time to get things squared away as I had planned. hopefully I'll have it up soon. Since some of the items have 3mm clips on them I'd recommend any of the Strong & Flexible options. I'm generally ok with how grainy it looks. I personally havent tried any of the Polished versions but I know people like that option as well. Thanks. If I had a better setup to handle painting and really the time to do so I'd explore this idea in a heart beat. But it's always the lack of time that gets me. =( Hopefully I'll some more stuff to showcase before the end of the year and of course next year. And yes, for those that are wondering I'm still fine tuning Octohead.
Counterpunch. No Punch. No Counterpunch... I honestly always get confused as to which one is which (Counterpunch is the Decepticon and is the one with blue as his main body color) Either way here's something for your FunPub or recently KO'd Punch/Counterpunch figure.
I recently ordered the Shockwave gun attachment in polished form. It's about 50% less grainy than the regular version and more preferrable IMO.
Definitely a good tip for those who care about how smooth Shapeway products are. I try and make sure the models will print in both Polished and normal Strong and Flexible materials but things do sometimes slip. In most cases I can generally get a fix out relatively fast. At least I try to =) I've heard that complaint about the not-insecticon heads as well. Unfortunately, my skill at creating heads is pretty much zilch (hence why Octoduck's head is taking me so long and that's essentially a sphere). But hopefully some of the other stuff that I have planned will surprise and excite everyone. Merry Christmas all!
