Hoser Rifle is now available. I also did a bunch of clean up and other maintenance of the store. A bunch of stuff have already been added. And another reveal will happen later today
Garbage In. Garbage Out. I haven't created a great deal of items specifically for Transformers Animated toys but this one has been on my list for some time. Available Now: Animated Wreck-Gar's car axle weapon aka Animated Wrecking Axle
Animated Arcee Weapon - Javelin This is a two part weapon that when held individually give a long dagger or ice fragment look to the figure. When combined the two parts form a double sided javelin which sorta reminds me of the scene of Lamar Latrelle throwing a javelin from Revenge of the Nerds. The individual javelin parts still fit in Arcee's sword compartments in her shoulds but the 3mm pipes, that are on my redesigned swords and batons, have been removed.
Animated Arcee Staff Following the footsteps of the Animated Arcee Javelin I took the design and created a bo staff when the two halves are combined or batons when separated. Yes, I know typically bo staffs are much longer but the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles always got away with giving Donatello a shortish bo staff (ok, maybe not this short =). And yes, that's where I got the inspiration for this particular weapon.
GDO Hot Spot Fireball Cannons When I first saw that Hasbro Asia was going to have an exclusive repaint of Generations Inferno as Hot Spot I was pretty stoked. For all the repaints that Hasbro and Takara/Tomy do this one was obvious to me and highly anticipated. I was a bit bummed that it was going to be an Hasbro Asia exclusive under their GDO line but at least another G1 character would have been redone. Fortunately, a few months ago we learned that Toys R Us would be bringing most of the Hasbro Asia GDO exclusives to the US making it an expensive exclusive (for those in the US to import) to hoping that TRU distribution won't be as bad as in the past. As much as I like the Generations Inferno mold (why doesn't Grapple have real hands?) I felt that GDO Hot Spot was missing something that helps people identify Hot Spot as Hot Spot (and that's beyond being able to turn into Defensor). That's when I started to design his Fireball Cannons. It's somewhat hard to see in these two pictures but they're slightly different. The second picture is of my first prototype which has a larger gun barrel. Ascetically I thought a smaller barrel looked better hence the second picture, which shows the final product. Both versions, as singles and as doubles, will be available once Shapeways is back online and I have time to update things there.
Something to think about while standing in line to vote ... Hurricane Sandy sorta threw my schedule off whack hence the lack of actual design reveals. But here's something to chew on while you stand in line to vote (if you were able to vote already ): What the heck is this thing? (For the one or two people who know don't spoil it just yet More to come ... I promise.
Wheelie say, find friends today! When I saw the Asian exclusive GDO deluxe sized Wheelie I was first impressed with the head sculpt but also that they traded in RTS Jazz's gun for a slingshot. Combine a great looking new head mold, Wheelie's iconic weapon along with the main body being one of the better Classic style molds and you have one of the better GDO figures from the set. I saw a few people contemplating/discussing getting rid of their Universe Legends Wheelie because of the GDO/TRU exclusive. I find that somewhat sad because I also think in terms of an updated G1 figure the Legends Wheelie is an excellent figure as well. If anything the Legends Wheelie scales well with Masterpiece Grimlock. However, maybe adding a new accessories for this figure would help make it stand out again. That led to the development and design of a slingshot for Legends class Wheelie. I'm still working on the clip as this figure has no natural 3mm-5mm holes for Wheelie to hold anything. Plus the overall feel of the slingshot is that's soooooo tiny. I need to beef it up a tad so those who handle it won't crush it. A friend mentioned finding a place to store the sling shot would make the idea more appealing to him. I can honestly say usually the "storing" portion is the furthest from my mind when designing stuff but in this case I think I figured something out.
Thanks Sunlink, I just got the Hosehead and Getaway guns from Shapeways, once I paint/dye them up I'll post some pics on your feedback thread. Gotta get those Hotspot guns next, are you going to design guns for the rest of the Protectobots? There's Universe 2.0 Blades and Botcon 2010 Streetwise that needs some old school styled guns. How about some G1 styled guns for the Maketoys not-Constructicons? Keep up the great work!
Hey, love your work. Are you going to make the head/shoulder cannons for Prowl/Bluestreak/ to go with the Datsun v4 gun you made?
Love your stuff! Is there another update on the Bombshell horn? I've been eagerly checking for it. Thanks!
Awesome! I always love to see pixs of how people are using my designs! Thanks for buying them and enjoying the designs! Honestly, I forgot about Universe Blades. But really the plan was to make new representations for each of the Scramble City style combiners. It's slowly happening but I tend to get sidetracked pretty easily =) Before Herc/Giant came out I had already started some rough designs for the Constructicons but they got pushed back for some other stuff. I cant say I have these new representations but do they have standard 4mm or 5mm peg sizes? Thanks for the kind words. I can't say new shoulder missiles/cannons are on the radar. I'd have to see how the current ones attach and how easy it would be for people to remove them. I can add it to my list to investigate. uhhhhhh ... possibly more news in the next few days ... hopefully ... my number one goal for the past few weeks have been to get Octohead, Bombshells horn and Shockwaves laser hand done. It's been fun and frustrating doing accessories verse weapon designs. I really do applaud those customers who can do both along with new heads. They have skills I still need to master.
Let It Rain FIRE! Adding to the set of available Seeker weapons comes this request for a Sunstorm style flamethrower that my friend saw on a custom Sunstorm. It's a big weapon. The pegs were tested again both a standard Hasbro seeker and as in this picture a CHMS clear Skywarp.
Ultimately, I serve only one master... pure logic. It is done. This is the base model for Fall of Cybertron Shockwaves laser fist. At some point I'll print this in Shapeways purple Strong and Flexible material to see how purple the purple dye actually is. And when I say base model, yes that means I'm happy with all the connections and measurements but I have a few more ideas I want to try and implement. Some are already in the works ...
Unknown --> Known A Pre-Thanksgiving treat ... Yes, the previous unknown image is a spoiler connector that adds a 5mm peg hole to the RTS Jazz mold so figures like the Japanese exclusive Generations Stepper will have a place for his Targetmaster partner. Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey Sunlink, the giant constructions have 5mm fist holes - though their guns are nice I'd certainly prefer G1 styled pistols! Very excited to see the Stepper attachment, that is a must buy!
The first one to cross the finish line LIVES. From CGI model to tested prototype. G1 inspired Drag Strip weapon.
I was wondering if you are going to put up the Legends G1 Megatron Upgrade Set for sale any time soon? Thanks
