Hey everyone, I repainted my Sea Spray to look like a COBRA Eel. I still have some work to do, like going back over the paint job a bit and I need to find someone that can make me a silver COBRA emblem sticker, but other than that he's pretty much done. I hope to put him up for sale as soon as he is finished. So, tell me what you think. Don't worry I can handle criticism, this is after all my first fully painted project.

Awesome. I had planned an OPrime/Killer Whale crossover, but this is a lot more creative. Great job.

 

Dude, you should totally do a OP/Whale, that would be awesome! I love the GI Joe crossovers, I think I'm going to try a B.A.T./Onslaught crossover and a Cobra Trooper/Powerglide crossover as my next projects.

Thanks guys! I never thought of doing him as a WHALE but now that you mention it, that would be pretty awesome. If I do another one I might have to go that route. Honestly when I first got him I thought "he would make an awesome COBRA Eel", since the Eel is one of my favorite COBRA figures I just had to try.

I'm having some paint rub issues though since I did this all by hand with brushes. I may need to go back and file those areas down. I've also gotta get a spray clear coat put on him because the acrylics scratch easily. This is still very much a work in progress, but I just wanted to see what you all thought and see if I was on the right track. =)

looks good. as far as the silver cobra emblem:
Troop Emblems & Insignias : Cobra Stickers, Replacement and restoration stickers for classic G.I. Joe vehicles.

i personally have not dealt with them but i heard they where ok to deal with.

 

Man that is SPOT ON!! I love that mold in these colors. Paint looks pretty clean and well dispursed.

 

I'm really glad you all like it. I was wondering if I should do a more realistic paint job and weather it some, but I kinda like the clean look on him. What do you think?

this cross-over fits so well i'm surprised hasbro never did this first to cash in on it!! 

 

Thanks! I was thinking of doing the "scuba" air lines in black instead of silver since they are black on the GI Joe Eel, but silver just looked better, imho.

Ya know, I actually see a lot of these figures that could be made into awesome GI Joe crossovers if only Hasbro would make them. Onslaught makes a prefect B.A.T. which has been wonderfully made by a customizer over on HISSTank.com and Powerglide was made into Cobra Commander already. I just today was at Wal-Mart and figured out a way to make Bludgeon into Storm Shadow and/or Snake-Eyes (The head part threw me off for a bit but I think I found the perfect replacement).
