UPDATE: Some more paint and some details to make altmode more Brawnish: 1. Added crashbar to front (not as big as I wanted because of the way he transforms.) 2. Added armor panels over cassette detailing on sides 3. Added fake window to back over cassette detailing 4. Added spare tire to roof original post: Those expecting another sexy fembot can just pretend this figure is called Brawnhilda. And is Roy Orbison's brawn-eyed girl. And is wearing only a brawn panties. And isn't bad, but just brawn that way. So I swapped one of my ROTF freebies with Ravage_Eject in exchange for his Animated Ratbat. Oddly, Ratbat came with this weird grey and red thing. I think it was maybe a display stand, but it had wheels. I couldn't quite figure out what it was for, so I decided to mercilessly rip off my buddy Griff's custom and make it into a TFA BRAWN! Wow, that intro got a bit long and brawn out, didn't it? He's got a new head. I'm pretty pleased with the sculpt. It's basically just a lump with a face painted on, but it's MY lump with a face painted on. This started life as an electrostatic soundwave. I sculpted a new head from apoxiesculpt, and altered the chest. The head transforms pretty much the same, but has to be turned around backward to fit. He's also got fists now. I chopped off soundwave's flappy little hands and wrapped strips of apoxie around the stumps to make fingers. Here he is with his buddies in team uh... in whatever Rodimus' team was called. How I wish I had an animated Red Alert to hang out with them and amputate their limbs. Anyway, that's about all the pics and brawn puns I have to share today. See ya!
awesome job just wanted to share that lol. and my son just said its soundwave brawn and i didnt even ask him so every good job, on it and hes 4. so really awesome job
Nice! Your sculpting & paintjob have come up a treat! Great job Mate! Can I put in a request for Brawn gorilla-pressing a larger 'Con or something?
Brawn looks great, bud I really dig the head you made for him. Photo request: Brawn playing the keytar
love the head (glad you turned his brawn eyes blue) and the chestplate looks great. Still digging the arm-shields too. I'm tempted to suggest painting the front fenders yellow in the altmode but I know how much of a pain painting yellow is so I won't
Looks really good. I really want to do one of him just haven't gotten around to it yet. I have a whole other collection of animated figured just waiting to be repainted
That head is awesome, and the fists you sculpted are so much better than the Mime-wave hands. The bot mode colors are really well done too. I'm curious how the clearance is with that modded chest piece in the alt mode, if it drags a little, or if you have enough space for him to keep rolling. What still needs work are your puns. I kinda expected more of this.....
i want one of those! you definately made brawn look sexy. i love it (well not literally but you get the idea)
Nice! That head sculpt is most impressive. The alt mode looks a little odd with the one yellow section in the back but the bot mode more than makes up for it. I like those hands too. Very effective. I'm curious about the wheels inside the shoulders and how that came about.
Thanks everybody! You guys really are too kind! Plus my camera is being flattering here. He doesn't look anywhere near this good irl, especially the yellow bits. Thanks, but I can't take credit for using soundwave. I got that idea from Simplygriff. The chest is only a tiny bit thicker and has no clearance issues. I actually had more trouble with the hands. I had to cut a fair bit off his pelvis to get them room. And my puns are just fine! I'll have you know I won a Brawn's medal at the pun olympics! Yeah, I sorta forgot about his alt-mode. If I come back to this guy, I'll definitely try to make it more jeep-like and try to bring the yellow through so the hindquarters stick out less. As for the shoulders, TFA brawn as seen on the show has wheel shoulders in SORT OF that configuration. At any rate, I didn't want them folded in like on Soundwave because it looks too much like speakers, so I filled in the gap with some chopped up LEGO wheels. Even if it doesn't quite look like show brawn, at least it would look big and muscley. It's a product called ApoxieSculpt. Dormamu helped me find some at a local taxidermy shop of all places! Roger! I'm on it! Will post a few more pics tonight after I tweak the lightbox. Thanks again guys!
This is too cool. I'd buy this in a heartbeat if it were officially released. Excellent work on the head
