yeah the original casting had too deep of undercuts so it laft blank spot when I poured the silicone, etc. leaving bubbles etc. but thats the problem with casting non rendered parts. you have to cast it a few times before the defcts can be seen. also anyone that has a Classics Sideswipe, I recommend switching out the grey and white parts! Thanks STPrime for the idea. He's almost done!
Is your goal to match the red color of the rest of the paint apps perfectly? If so I will probably get in on this as well. I'm hoping the bubbles are mostly gone in the final product, if they are not the perfectionist in me would need to fill them all up and repaint it... and I would prefer not to have to do that, especially if the paint matches well

no prob, i'll have to show you pics of my three(ra, ss, op) i've been working on. please show me how to do the leg cover, maybe we can figure out a cover for the inside to. i switched the legs on mine for more articulation but don't like the half covered shins. also, what light bar is that? i was looking for my junker rid prowl but cant find it. i hate the prowl light bar.
haha, it IS the rid prowl light bar! also are you doing a Gobot Optimus? I am too! the tutorial should be up this week. I wanted to wait unti I was 100% done. and I am trying to get the red to match up, I did that head before I even had the red alert figure. and the bubbles should be gone now, what's most annoying is that the first cast I did was missing a nose :/
that's what i thought it was turned backwards. yeah, i'm going to do my own version of a gobot prime. i had swapped out the parts on my red alert to make a henkei version, even swapped out the bodies too, but i've decided to keep a little of the red to brake up all the white. it's also annoying the the ss white biceps are a little off color from ra's shoulders.
any progress on the head and tutorial for the leg mod? here's my red alert and friends, thought i'd share instead of starting a new thread. the only difference in mine is that i switched out the body/chest piece too.
First off I savagely apologize for the lack of Tutorial on the legs. I can't find the SD card the pics were on Also , for those who have ordered a head , I am painting them this week to send out ASAP. sorry for the wait, I managed to FUBAR a silicone mold somehow and had to start from scratch.
I am cancelling this, I can't get the head to cast correctly. I am refunding those who haven't gotten one (send me a PM if you haven't gotten one from me) I am cutting my losses on this so I can concentrate on other kits , etc.
