I have discovered the Dinobots are a love/hate sub-group. Well, they have always been my favs. Been wanting to do this set for a while, and about 8 months ago I had to get a set for a commission that didn't work out.. I remember watching the VHS of the origin of the Dinos...then, as I grew up, I discovered the comic versions of them. I always like the aspect of them being Cybertronians, smart, tactical, and powerful..So I wanted to capture that in my DINOBOT set. I wanted to capture the essence of each Dino....a little more "roughness" to them. hence the dirty style work paint as apposed to a pretty sparkly job!


So with Swoop, he was not as skilled, large, or a fierce as the others. He is brave, yet, timid. He got his name stolen by the Predacon Divebomb for crying out loud. SO since then, he has been trying to figure out how to up his skill....his thoughts....MORE FIRE POWER!!!

I found a good use for some power core combiners  Here is a little trick, Huffer's neck and head are a perfect fit for putting swoop's head on a ball joint.

Ball joint shoulders.
ball joints elbows.
ball joint hips.
rotating thighs.
double jointed knees.

he still has basically the same leg transformation, his body does come together, his arms are obviously to big to fit in his body, so that rotate and stay against his body while the arm gats are on ball joints and they rotate around.

I always liked the playing with Swoop when I was king. Figures with wings always were cool. I always wanted a little more bang with him though.

The wings are from a G1 Swoop. As is the back of the head, the chest, and the lower legs.

They will be popping up soon...trying to get the other dinos to be bigger, and still transform and look cool is a bit more difficult that I thought until I started building...

very cool and new take on Swoop. I'm wishing I could see more differentiation between the "gray" arms and legs and the wings. They seem to blend together a little, cause they are both the same paint color(s)

 

Thanks man...and yeah, the wings just have a lighter silver on them at this point, but I have my mirror chrome waiting for the wings and the new weapons  That should brighten'r up!
