Hello there. I will be attempting my first Transformer custom repaint! I've been building plastic model cars most of my life so this shouldn't be too difficult. However, it is the first time I've ever painted a Transformer, so bare with me.
When I purchased my E-Hobby's Starscreams Ghost, the seller was kind enough to include a free Ramjet fuselage. So, I figured this would be the place to start.
I plan on painting him in military colors, either a dark foresty green with a light Olive Drab accents, or brown accents.
My first step was to completely disassemble Ramjet. This actually proved to be the easy part. So, here is Ramjet all laid out in pieces:

I still need some parts to complete the project. I need F-15 Eagle style wings, tail-fins, fists, and weapons. Donations and/or very cheap parts would be nice.
I may also try my first hand at dry-brushing some of the details, not sure yet.

Well, I don't believe this! Damn it! The black chest piece just snapped in half! Yes, the die-cast part broke in half! There's no way in hell I can fix this now. Now I need another part.   ERRRRRRRRRRR! Frustration already!

guess you could score a junker seeker.. or does it need to be ramjet specific?

 

Not really, all the white parts are still good and will make a good base for painting. I just need a new chest and the other mentioned pieces.
Here's the broken part. I have no clue how it happened. It was like it was just waiting to break at the wrong moment. I was holding it in my hand, and snap!

Need a replacement part.

 

damn... well it wasn't a very solid spot, but ofcourse assembled it had less stress

 

Wait, I thought that was one of the die-cast parts. That shouldn't have busted easily.

 

Yes it was a die-cast part, and yes it just snapped like a twig!
I wonder if done painting and assembling if there would be any notice. Meaning, if the plastic part it attaches to would help hold things in place? Can this part still be used, or should I just replace it?
Oh, and another thing I need is somebody to help me produce a set of custom AcidStorm style stickers for this thing. I sent Reprolabels a request for one, but they e-mailed me back saying that their not accepting requests at this time! If so, why do they have the request button?
If anybody can make a custom AcidStorm sticker set, I'd appreciate it.

if you point out what you want... info needed   pics/links etc. PM?
and then the only thing left is print them yourself or find a shop that can..

What I really need right now is some parts.

 

When I start painting this figure, does anybody have any suggestions for AcidStorms accents? Talking about where Skywarp is purple, and Sunstorm is white etc.

 

As an accent color for Acid Storm, I'd suggest a blue-grey color - like on the original figure. I don't know if there's something like that that comes pre-made or if you'd have to mix up a batch, though.

Sorry about the part. It shouldn't be too hard to find another seeker body. I think their torsos are all the same.
This is probably why the Classics Seekers have that bar across their chests.

 

Congrats on your first endeavor! I think you've already seen that this will be a great learning tool for you  

I totally agree here. Finding Seeker bodies is very easy, especially on eBay. If you shop just right, you can end up with a deal and perhaps some other parts to use on other customs later on. Keep us posted on your results!  

 

Well so far Reprolabels will NOT make me a set of stickers for this project. I would appreciate somebody make a set for me. I don't want just a Photoshop document, I want an actual sticker sheet ready to use.
Needs to have some sort of green theme in it for AcidStorm, but look kind of like all the other seekers.
As for the colors, I'll just have to find out what blue/green will be appropriate. By the way, as I've yet to venture into the airbrushing world, this will all be rattle-can technique.
I appreciate your comments and suggestions. Keep them coming, after all, this is my first custom Transformer and may take months to complete.

 

well that was what I was saying man... I can't print but ... the people who can ...mostly don't have the correct files... that's why I offered to make a file...

but good luck finding cuz that's gonna be damn hard

(btw I can only make on if I have template for another seeker)
